Morning all. Another drizzly day here although it isn't too cold. OH had a bad night and I've now woken up with a sore throat. Oh joy.
Need to do the Sm run this morning, and then plenty of indoor jobs to be getting on with.
Take care to those going out, keep warm and eyes down.

    Morning all,

Lovely day here. Took the opportunity to paint a coffee table in the sun-she-ine! Once the OH sees me with a paint brush in my hand, the list of victims grows daily :D

A few admin bits to do - replacement B**ts card to register, tax return prep, etc. - then back to door painting this afternoon.

    Good morning all,

Just finished my Pilates class, so enjoying a coffee before SM trip.

Enjoyed York yesterday, despite the wet, though we managed to dodge the rain by diving into either a cafe or a shop.

Today started out bright but it’s grey and drizzly again for the moment.
Be careful trying to move furniture about @Ladybird4. I think we still think we’re youngsters, (which we are in our minds, just our bodies sometimes remind us we’re not😂).

Such a shame about your conservatory plants @Yviestevie. We certainly did have a couple of very cold spells, though.

Good luck with the painting @Biglad.

    Good morning all.

Enjoy your chat with Bestie LB.

Hazel, I hope your sore throat turns into nothing worse than a mild cold.

I'm going out for a walk soon. Trying to get into practice for tomorrow's 5 mile walk with the village walking group. I haven't done that far since the autumn with the walking group in France. I hope my knee doesn't play up.

hi folks. Sitting in Greggs with a danish and coffee waiting for the pharmacist in Boots to return from lunch so I can collect my tablets. We have decided to have the insulated roof panels on the conservatory. The fellow came last night and gave me a reasonable price and an extra discount if we were able to have the work done at short notice as occasionally he had odd days to fill in for relatively small jobs. Had a call this morning to say they had a cancellation for Monday as a customer had been called into hospital and wanted to rearrange. Very pleased to get it done quickly. Hoping it makes a big difference so I can replace my plants. Although I am going to see if they recover when the weather warms up.
    Stay warm folks

Thansk Busy, it's remained sore all day despite copious cups of tea so I, too, am hoping it's a mild cold, not what's going around or a heavy cold.mPoor OH is poorly today, he did come out shopping and then wished he hadn't, he felt lousy. So, plenty of rest, liquids and painkillers ( if necessary) are on the menu for the next few days.
Busy, hope you manage that five mile walk, eek...

Yvie, that's good going with the conservatory work, nothing better than getting work done quickly. Fingers crossed all goes well and that it works for you and the plants.

Hazel Hazel I hope your OH soon feels better also the you don’t develop a bad virus . Look after yourselves . Yvie that’s so good that you can get the work done quickly on your conservatory roof .
I am sure you will feel the benefit .

  • Cool out but lovely to inhale the fresh air.   Hazel hope oh soon feels a little better.  Hope he has a mask for painting.   LB do be careful.

A much nicer day today - even got some washing out. Don't suppose it will dry but it's nice to see it out there!

LB - stairs - TV unit - squashed ladybirds - Nooooooo!

Yvie - sorry to hear about your plants but good that it shouldn't be too costly to insulate the roof.

@Songbird-2 - you asked about the texts Lucy W was reading. Yes - that's exactly the sort of stuff I enjoy transcribing (and translating if it's in Latin). It does look like gobbledygook until you get your eye in but that's the style of handwriting which is a different form to modern lettering. Damaged documents, faded ink and non-standardised spelling & grammar all add to the fun!
I love Lucy W's programmes. She's such a good communicator and (I think I said this before) she has my dream job as chief curator for the royal palaces.

Hope you and your OH feel better soon. Sounds like you both need an afternoon on the sofa watching old B&W movies and drinking hot toddies.
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
