Have been to SM and stocked up on tissues, what a price they are. Also there were some maniacal drivers on the roads, showing off. It is quite mild out and we have blue skies and the sun is out, albeit a weak one. No wind, hurray. Sorry Ante, that's no good for you I know....
Yvie, I've had a look at your paintings etc on the Crafters Thread, they are really good for someone who hasn't done that before. I think you're making excellent progress. Do you ever watch Portrait /Landscape Artisits of the Year, on Sky Arts? It's an interesting programme.

    Hello all.

    Your paintings are lovely @Yviestevie.

I went on the 5 mile walk with the walking group, about 15 of us, but I'm afraid to say I only managed 3 miles. That is less than I did with the group in France. I could have done a bit more but it was a good place to go back home. We'd been on footpaths that I'd walked before and came to the other end of my village so a choice of another hour's walk or 10 minutes back to our cottage. I went home as my knee was getting quite painful.

I'm now feeling very sad. Rang one of our best friends in France and she is in hospital with inoperable cancer.

A shame you weren't able to finish your walk BL and I'm so sorry to hear the news regarding your friend. Thoughts are with you & C.

I've had a day of getting ready for our weekend away and prepping a bit for Germany as well. We will have to be away by 6.30am tomorrow and I was going to get the car out and leave it on the drive (once less thing to do in the morning). But it's forecast to be below freezing and foggy overnight so that would mean car windows to de-ice etc. Quicker to get it out of the garage in the morning. Hope the fog's not too thick....

    Good evening all,

I’m late to the party today, had quite a busy day with one thing and another, but it’s time to relax now.

I had a look on the crafters thread. There are some very talented people on there, and @Yviestevie your paintings are really very good indeed. I wish I had such a skill. I’m doing a painting by numbers at the moment, but that in no way compares to what you can do.

Im sorry to read your sad news @Busy-Lizzie, such a shock for you. 💐

It’s been a very cold and damp day today (no rain, just damp in the air). It seems to seep into the bones. The sun they said we might see remained shy.

Enjoy your weekend away @Topbird. I hope that the fog stays away for your travels. I agree that it’s probably better to leave your car in the garage overnight so that you don’t have to scrape away ice in the morning.

    Have a good evening.

Safe journey away tomorrow Topbird, drive carefully and enjoy your break and then holiday in Germany.
Red Maple, these busy do tend to get away from you don't they? I've been busy doing indoor jobs this afternoon but am tired now so am going to sign out early now. Have a good evening everyone.

Hazel, I do hope that you and your OH get over your colds soon.
Busy I am so so sorry to hear about your friend. You must feel desolate. A hug for you:

I went to play Canasta today and the hall we play in was like a fridge. My feet felt like two blocks of ice - hands weren't much better but at least, at the natural break I could hug a mug and thaw them out a bit

Thank you all. My friend was so full of life and now she's lying weak in a hospital bed. She used to organise charity events with me.
