Rosie, I hope to sleep better tonight as well. Lily does not seem to have any problem!
Yvie, I think you might need a specialist paint for UPVC. I have a garden full of wet leaves and like you I am waiting just for a slight increase in temperature and NO RAIN! I was so sorry to read you had lost all your conservatory plants - mind you we did have excessively low temperatures a few weeks back. My Canasta friend had the ceiling in her conservatory clad with insulating panels two years ago and it has made such a big difference. It also keeps it cooler in Summer which is very nice.
Hazel, I think it is VERY kind (not!) if your OH shares his croaky throat with you.
Ante, I hate being beaten by inanimate objects! Enjoy Poirot. I am going to give a new thriller a try tonight - called The Catch. I do hope there is no damage caused by the wind.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
Yvie, what a shame the plants have been lost in the conservatory. You never know, some might be quietly asleep just now, and revive in the warmer weather. Whichever way it goes, the conservatory will be a much more usable space once the ceiling has been insulated. My OH's osteoarthritis is definitely worse in the cold weather,so you're not alone. Soon be spring........ Ante, I do feel for you with those winds, I hate them, so destructive, let's hope they die down soon for you. Red Maple, sounds like you had a lovely unexpected day out. I love York, from the Cathedral to the shops, magical place. Rosie, my tooth has gone with ( a tiny piece of )chocolate too😲 Never going to eat it again. LB, good to hear Jacks eyes are so much better. Hope his eye test goes okay.🤞 Topbird, was watching a recorded programme of Lucy Worsley tonight, about Witch Hunts. She was reading olde English( some of it looked like Latin to my eyes) and quite easily too. It looked a bit like gobbledygook to me. From 1590 ish. Is this the sort of writing that you translate or even older? Signing out now folks. Have a good evening.
A very good morning one and all. Anyone for toast?
Off to have my hair done today and a lot of gossip with my Bestie. Its a little bit frosty this morning but not as bad as it has been recently. Whatever you have planned for the day, I hope you achieve it.
