Rubee and Biglad, hope you two are sleeping in the bed now.
Bussy, Father Brown is in English, like all program from abroad. We don't synchronize anything except program for very young children, and we have subtitles which are optional. You would be amazed if you see channel 2 of Croatian tv. It's mostly British documentaries, movies, series and many more.
High wind again, but it's dry at least. I have few moments for tea then must go. Wish you all nice day, stay warm and see you later.ย
We saw the last of the latest series of Father Brown yesterday. That must be one reason why your English is so good @Ante1. When we moved to France we watched French TV with subtitles to help us learn French.
We are off to Morrisons to do our shopping and some for our NDN too. She doesn't want to come with us.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Bit damp outside but I'd still be happy to potter for a while. However, I'll be in the doghouse if there isn't some evidence of paint and wood being introduced to each other by the time OH gets home
Problem is, virtually all the woodwork has gradually taken on a nicotine-stained hue to some degree or other (despite no smokers in the house) and painting one door and frame brilliant white just highlights the fact that the neighbouring skirting board needs doing as well. That leads to the next one and so on! Can you tell I'm not keen on the job in hand?
Busy, how is your NDN doing? Well done you on getting some shopping in for her!
Biglad, speaking of things looking as if they have the nicotine look, I am always disappointed how my so called 'white goods' take on a yellow hue after a time. I think next time I will be buying coloured appliances! They just look mucky even though they aren't and there are no smokers here either. By the way - regarding your painting - you need a 'Hazel'!
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
Agreed on the white goods @Ladybird4 - we've got a pale yellow de-humidifier that looks poorly but still does a great job.
I've done my morning shift - repaired the mess left when the old bathroom door (it was a sliding one that folded in half) was ripped out. Not a perfect job but will look ok when I've sanded and painted. Painted the door and most of the frame (bar the newly filled in bits) and prepped the neighbouring bedroom door (cleaned and sanded). After lunch I'll paint/touch-up the bedroom door and start on the second coat of the bathroom door. After that, there should be an absence of 'death stares' whilst I drop off in the CA during the football tonight ย
I've been repotting my friend's roses for her. An hour and a half outside in the fog, drizzle and temp of about 3C. Just as well it was quite an active job and I had several layers on. Yet again I was singing the praises of my winter gardening gloves which keep my hands both dry and relatively warm. Rubbish for fine work but perfect for rough jobs.
Biglad my landing woodwork could do with your attention when you've time.... Did all downstairs last year and the paint and kit has been piled up in the snug since October waiting to be moved upstairs.ย
I found that water-based satinwood brilliant white keeps its colour better than gloss and much better than oil based paint (oil based goes yellow very quickly).ย
Rubee - hope you're not too tired.ย
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down

Curse that CA! Off to bed now - painting day when I wake up

Could definitely do with a couple of Hazels!!!
