Morning all. I'm up early as we have the house alarm chap coming in under an hour to give the alarm system it's annual check over.
Its a lot milder here too LB this morning, such a nice change not to be freezing cold.
Debs, enjoy your massages( my OH would love them but I can't abide anyone touching my head. I have to grit my teeth when at the hair dressers). Hope future MIL is okay when you visit.
SGL, hope that headache clears up soon, the morning headaches are not very nice, maybe take some painkillers to get rid of it? Have you got a milder morning?
Im making some good progress with my new throw with the new wool I bought, it's knitting up nice and heavy-ish so will be nice in the winter months. Might have to keep this one myself. ( I usually pass them on).

    Morning all.

No frost here but it's still cold.

I hope your head feels better soon @star gaze lily.

Not sure if we can get out of our drive. They are digging trenches for fibre Internet and we are in the middle of 3 way traffic lights. They say we may have it by June. I hope so.

    Good morning,

It’s a lovely, bright morning today, no frost but still on the chilly side.

Hope you’ll be able to get out of your drive when you need to @Busy-Lizzie. In practice, they should have factored that in, but in reality?

Headaches are not nice so I hope yours has faded away now @sstar gaze lily"
We had our house alarm checked yesterday @Songbird-2. Cost a fortune, as new batteries were needed for everything. Still, that should do us for another year or so.

Well, I’d better try and motivate myself to go out for a walk whilst it’s so nice. I did go out yesterday, meeting friends, but that wasn’t an outdoor event, so not quite the same 😁. Lovely to see them and catch up with news.
  • Afternoon all.  Lily hope your headache soon goes.  Big cardigan on and keeping warm.  Only had a couple of hours so early to bed tonight.  Ante your snack soundly lovely.  Hazel hope all goes well.  Debs enjoy the pampering.  Biglad wrap up warm for gardening.

    Afternoon all.
We done our daily walk, and we need rest a bit. It's raining, and it's cold, luckily no wind. From Friday we should again have wind and snow. Don't looking forward for that.
I hope you all had a nice day so far. Didn't read back yet, but will do little bit later.

Red Maple, our alarm chappie advised us today that next year  we will need new batteries too and what a hike in the price! So, our turn next......
Ante, oh no, what horrible weather you're having, more snow and winds, a dreaded combination. Keep wrapped up warm and don't forget to take some well earned rests when you can.
Ive broken a bit of a tooth off today, gawd and *******( insert what you will!). I'm sick of teeth😒
Ive tidied up the shed today and got some bits and pieces for the skip  tomorrow. Also the two Knautia  Macedonica's have been delivered today and they're fine specimens. We are really pleased with them. Now to find somewhere to put them.

    Evening all,

It's still light! Just ;) I've done another stint outside - pretty mild for me. Considering getting the shorts out. Nothing exciting - mostly removing soggy messes from murky corners. Leaves, moss, sludge and slime :o I imagine quite a few hiding slugs have been deposited into the garden waste bin as well. They haven't collected it yet, so might get it full to the brim by the time they do.

I did sow a few pepper seeds - couldn't resist. I'm going to try and revert back to the 2021 successful harvest, rather than the blank of 2022.

Good early evening all. I nipped across to bid my neighbour a happy birthday. I asked her how old she was and there was a silence. I then asked her if she was 25 (her Mum chuckled - especially as she nodded 'yes') I held up 3 fingers and she then said 'three'. I gave her her card and a little gift I had got for her. Her Mum then told me that she had asked her if she wanted to go out for a walk but clever girl said 'No! Its too cold!' She wasn't wrong - it was Baltic. I then had to walk up to the post box at the end of the Lane to post a birthday card to my youngest great niece who is 1 on Friday. I quite enjoyed the walk - which I did quickly to keep warm - and I wondered if you, Red maple, got out to do yours.
Rosie, I didn't have a brilliant night last night - I'll be watching the second part of Silent Witness tonight then trying to get a better sleep.
Oh dear Hazel, I hope that you are not in any pain with your broken tooth. That will be another expensive do at the Dentist's. Pleased to read your plants are good specimens.
Busy, it will be excellent if you do get a better internet connection with fibre broadband. Mine was adjusted some time back and I have to say (kiss of death!) that things are doing well so far.
Oh noooooo Ante. You don't need any more snow do you? I'm hoping that we are done for this winter.
Biglad I am getting all fired up for the 6 Nations so I might get my shorts out! Rolling on the Floor Laughing on Noto Color Emoji Animated

Evening all. Another very chilly day but none of the intense frosts and freezing fog of the last week. Think it will be a tad warmer from Thurs onwards.Made a trip down to the compost bin this pm. Lots and lots of soggy piles of collapsed foliage to clear up / cut back. Suspect there won't be time to do any of it before we go away but might see if I can find 30 minutes somewhere...

Hazel - bad luck with the tooth. OH did that just before Christmas. Got an emergency appt at the dentist to check everything was stable. In and out in 15 minutes and that will be £200 please sir😲

LB and Yvie asked about the course I'm doing. It's called "Reading "Medieval Documents" and is reading and transcribing documents from about 1400 to 1550. Some will be in English but most will be in Latin. They're about 100 years earlier than the documents I deal with all the time. The abbreviations, handwriting and formats are a bit different and my Latin is very rusty. It will definitely give the old grey matter a good work out.

It all sounds a bit geeky but the course is over subscribed so it's definitely not just me. I think anybody who enjoys word puzzles and is even vaguely interested in history would thoroughly enjoy trying their hand - it's quite addictive. Can't wait!!!

Evening T'Bird. I recognise the 'soggy piles of collapsed foliage' description as it fits my garden to a 'T'. I'm hoping that after I hang my new curtains tomorrow I may get chance to run amok with a rake. I am liking the sound of your transcription work and I think I could enjoy giving that a try.
