Good morning Hazel. I guessed you may have been busy yesterday - in a lovely way - with 23. I'm sure your plants will arrive safely and soon Hazel. Many companies only count Mondays to Fridays as working days even though I count Saturdays as well. I think its time for another cuppa now.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
Good morning all, a better day today, no frost or fog thank goodness. Out this morning then again this afternoon, meeting friends. Looking forward to that as the weather has kept me indoors over the weekend. Hope you all have a good day.
Good morning all. Finger is fine now a bit yellow but otherwise ok. Work today but nice to have fiancé home.
We are away for my birthday soon, a week in Kingham near Oxford. I am making plans and booking meals etc, we want to visit Blenheim too and my personal favourite is Cotswold Wildlife Park so lovely to see the animals.
Cold here but no frost and it’s dry. One more cuppa and then I need to get up.
Busy - you snuckered in there, the weather forecast on the Beeb first thing this morning was talking about rolling fog - as well as the extreme cold. Fingers crossed it doesn't affect you.
Red maple, have a lovely meet up with your friends.
Debs, it is always so nice to make plans to look forward to. I am planning another trip in June to the National Memorial Arboretum at Alrewas. Someone please tell me how to pronounce that place as I have no clue! Taking my brothers and sis-in-law. I went a few years back with friend from Crewe and I found it profoundly moving. I know it sounds a long way off yet but just planning it has been uplifting.

The fog was yesterday but we have extreme cold today. In Dordogne in winter we usually have a cold patch, maybe down to -10C. The week I moved house it was -7C.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Did a brief stint outside this morning. It's warmed up enough for virtually all the snow and ice to have gone. Soil and compost are workable so lots to do. Fortunately, a binfluencer up the road has put their garden waste bin out - they're doing a one-off winter collection sometime this week. I'd have forgotten otherwise, no doubt. With the chopped up christmas tree, it's nearly full.
We had a very cold and frosty (-8C at RAF Wattisham) start again today - but at least we could see the end of the garden. We had freezing fog through till mid afternoon yesterday which wasn't pleasant - everything seems so still and eerie.
Been busy doing unmentionables, cutting OH's hair, baking & soup making, sorting clothes for the local hospice shop, making lists for both my weekend course this weekend and our trip to Germany starting next week and generally doing 'stuff'. Going to light the fire and have some tea now!
My course is in Oxford Debs. Lovely part of the world but I shan't have any time to explore. OH is coming with me and we'll be B&B'ing in town. He'll be out exploring with his camera. Looking forward to a Vietnamese meal in town on Saturday night.
LB - half the fun of trips away is planning them isn't it?
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
Afternoon all. Just back and it’s quite fresh out. Glad to be home and warm up. As for travel it shows you how much there is to explore. Enjoy all planned trips. Apparently more snow expected between now and March.
Afternoon all. I'm finally over with all chores for today. It's bitterly cold, and I hope that will pass soon. I don't mind cold weather, but this is too much. It's dinner time, and I got freshly baked cream cheese pie.

Outside is sunny and white and silver with sparkling frost. -6C.
LB, what is the horrible weather forecast for East Anglia? Do you mean the cold?
Another day with nothing much planned.
