I was planning my niece's trip to Dordogne this summer, over the weekend. Well, not really planning it but finding them a holiday cottage as the place they booked has been sold. There is a website for English people living in my area of Dordogne and I think I've found a suitable cottage through that.

Been collecting Christmas decs that I don’t need . They are packed and ready for the charity shop .Also collected all the DVDs that we no longer watch. So pleased that we bought the chest of drawers recently . All my decs go in the bottom drawer . Now I know exactly where they are instead of having to hunt for them every December . The other four drawers are very tidy and I hope the contents stays like that .I am quite an untidy person .At last my sitting room is tidy .
Going to watch the quizzes on BBC 2 .Signing out for tonight .Have a good evening everyone.

    Afternoon all.
Goodness Busy, I had a shiver when I read about the temperature it was when you moved house. I'll bet you couldn't wait to get the heating on. Well done on finding a holiday corttage for your niece.
Biglad, I was quite envious when you mentioned you were able to get out into the garden. I did go into mine but only because I had had a Lily's TV session. My hands went into dead spider mode whilst pegging! I'm glad my green bins are emptied all year round.
T'Bird, I am looking forward to the first 'Travels with T'Bird' this year. I agree about the eerie feeling you experience in thick fog. It muffles sounds too - an out of world experience. Planning trips and holidays is very exciting at this time of year when its so  cold and dark. What is the course you are doing at Oxford? Sorry me being nosey!
Rosie, I'm glad to got out for a fresh air walk, but getting home to hug a mug is good too. I do not like the sound of more snow I have to say.
Ante, at least we are all experiencing really cold weather so do understand what you are talking about A freshly baked cream cheese pie sounds delicious - especially with a nice hot cup of tea.
Ruby, I am stirring up the old brain cells for tonight's quiz session too so I am signing out too. See all you lovely people tomorrow.

Night LB and Rubee, have a nice ( warm) evening.( good job deon Rubee with sorting out the new drawers and xmas decs)  I've been feeling very cold this afternoon despite the heating being on. I turned the temperature a little bit and got myself warmed through and then turned the temp down again. We are definitely feeling the cold more the older we get.
Topbird, like LB, I'm looking forward to Travels with Topbird or Topbird's  Travelling Tales😀Hope you manage to get everything sorted out, at least you'll be warm this time round. Enjoy your course too at the weekend. Much to look forward to and I hope all goes well. Safe travelling.
Biglad, didn't think I would be able to get outside today as it was so very cold first thing. However, when the temps rose a bit I nipped out and cut down some ornamental grasses and some sad looking ferns.( that had got battered in the recent high winds) as we don't have a green waste collection now until March. My hands were red raw though with th cold by the time I'd finished. I've booked the recycling centre for Wednesday to get rid of a full green bag of garden stuff.
Busy, you've  done well booking your niece an alternative holiday cottage, I expect  places will be getting booked out soon after this cold winter.
Im going to sign out for today too. Night all.

Evening folks,  I'm just about to watch Vera but thought I'd pop on and say hello.  It's nice to hear about peoples plans for this years holiday.  I've book a weeks art course in the Usk Valley.  I can't wait.  It's the first holiday I've taken alone, Hubby will be staying with Firstborn.  I'm also wondering what your course is Topbird, a nosy lot aren't we.  Had the boys this afternoon.  Both have a cough but Gabriel is much better than he was.  I haven't been out in the garden for ages.  Must get some stuff cleared though as I've paid for 6 extra collections, 3 at the beginning and 3 at the end.  At the moment there's nothing in there

Good morning all. I find it interesting how similar we all are , tidying and clearing up and making plans for better weather is the best way to get through January I think especially in this weather.
Massage and facial booked for this morning my shoulder will be glad of that then visiting fiancés mom and daughter not my idea of fun but needs doing. I will take his mom the last piece of my Christmas cake as she enjoyed the mini cake I sent her. It needs eating up.

Good morning Ante, SGL and Debs. Its quite mild here this morning and I'm thinking of a GC visit. It is my next door neighbour's daughter's 3rd birthday today - I cannot believe how quickly that three years has passed. She is such a little cutie.
