Son in Dordogne sent photos of his garden in the snow last night. Daughter has snow too. My house is between them both so I expect my garden is covered in snow.
Having been woken by that call from Anglian Water at 7.30 yesterday to say our water would be off, they rang again to say the leak was repaired and our water was on again and to run it until the cloudiness went. Our water wasn't off at all and it wasn't cloudy. I wish Vodafone were as diligent. Internet is very iffy, despite a man who OH saw repairing the phone line saying that it was repaired.
We are going to a friend for lunch today. She is a good cook.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
That is good news that Gabriel was allowed home, @Yviestevie. I hope he is doing well.
Yes, I was going to ask, too, @Ante1 about what time do your classes start? It sounds as if they are quite early, so I hope the finish is early, too. At my school, lessons began at 8.50 finishing at 3.30 pm, although, of course, the teaching staff rarely left before 5 pm and quite often nearer 6 pm when the caretaker wanted to lock up. I can’t say I miss those long days, reaching school by 7.45 and leaving towards 6 pm.
No snow here, I’m pleased to report, just more heavy frost, which is preferable. It’s meant to return to dismal grey by Monday- roll on spring.
All wrapped up today, still cooler. Debs enjoy sorting book shelves. LB I haven’t come across those titles. Hazel be careful underfoot. Have a good day all.
I just came from cottage. Despite all conditions I decided to go, and road was mostly clear. We came home frozen, but now is resting time.
Hazel and Red Maple, classes here start at 8am and end around 3pm. Duration of every class is 45 minutes, and after every class is 5 min break. After 3rd class is 30 min break for lunch.
Thank you for all the snowy pictures Ante but I have to say that they are the nearest I want to get to snow that deep this winter!
I went to visit my friend from Canasta today and nearly fell flat on my bum walking up her drive. I did the penguin shuffle over to near her hedge and luckily there was no ice there as the hedge gave some protection. Her partner had spotted me from the window and I was pleased I hadn't fallen over as he would have come out to rescue me and put himself at risk.
Hazel and Ante, I think that the last picture of the snow reminds me of lion dancers at Chinese New Year (which is this weekend). Next year will be the year of the rabbit - but hopefully not in peoples' gardens!
Busy I hope that your friend made you a delicious lunch and that your internet signal settles down soon for you.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
Evening all. Chap has been to inspect windows and has found that the workings inside the frames have twisted( due to contraction and swelling in hot and cold temperatures) so are not working correctly and letting air in. Has booked in for two weeks time to come back and correct all three windows as it will take at least half a day to deal with them. He did adjust the front door whilst he was here and that's a lot better now. LB, I've done that before, alarming when unexpected and hope you haven't twisted your body in your effort to remain upright. I am feeling a little sad tonight. Four years ago tonight, I spoke to my dad for the last time. He had rung up to ask how 23 was as he was suffering from a bad bout of croup, bless him. On the morrow he passed away. Think I will sign out for now.Have a good evening everyone.
