Hi all, I spoke too soon it’s snowing! Hope it dries up before I have to go to work. I don’t like snow ❄️ after Christmas to be honest I want to focus on Spring

Debs, that happened to me last night. The snow of yesterday morning disappeared and I was happy thinking it was gone for good. By the time I went to bed the snow was everywhere again.
Good morning Ruby. How are your knees this morning? Will you be crafting today?

Morning all. Didn't sleep well last night as Inwas so cold in bed, even with a water bottle. Think we will pop the heating on tonight, just before bed to take the chill off the air. Woken to a frost over night but no snow. I feel sorry for those of you who have snow , do take care when going out in it. OH has gone to table tennis so I will have a lazy morning and then need to get to *esco for some bits and pieces.
Rubee, poor you with bruised knees, take it easy today.Hope Rosie is feeling better.
I always listen to Ken Bruce LB on a morning and I'll miss him but will try and find the new station he's going on and catch him there. I feel he has gone before he was pushed, as have many other older radio presenters, all part of the grand BBC's restructuring plans, no doubt. Such a shame.

    Morning all.

We always have the bedroom radiator on in the evening when it's cold like this but it turns off overnight as the heating is set to go off at bedtime and come on about an hour before we get up.

The frost is thick and white and prettier than yesterday but my phone says it's slightly warmer,  -2C.

The recycling bin was frozen shut yesterday. I had to prise it open with 2 hands.

    Morning all,

Several snowfalls here over the last couple of days. Was a bit hairy going over the tops to pick up OH from the station late last night. Took a detour on the way back to avoid the steeper inclines :o

Eldest managed to get down our ungritted :( road to get to work but me and OH aren't going anywhere today.

All 4 of our bins are pretty full so could do with the snow and ice disappearing by tomorrow - the collection won't happen if they don't fancy an ungritted hill!

Have you tried giving the top a tap with a clenched fist when a bin is frozen, @Busy-Lizzie?

    Morning Hazel, Busy and Biglad.
Hazel, the radio station Ken Bruce is moving to does not start until April. Has your itchy skin calmed down now?
Biglad, that is exactly my M.O. (Ante = the way people do things. From Latin: Modus Operandi) for releasing a frozen bin top - works every time. Busy use the flat side of your clenched fist in the middle of the bin lid and imagine your least favourite 'anybody/thing'. Its quite therapeutic!

Thanks for the tip @Biglad:) I don't think I've been in this house (OH's) before in January, I'm usually in my house in France. Not that sort of bin there.

No worries @Busy-Lizzie. You don't even need to hit it very hard so shouldn't hurt your hand. Just a little 'dink' ;)

Sun is out and thawing is taking place :) The road is now part clear and part slush so the bins should be ok tomorrow (barring any more snowfall!)
