There is a really cold wind today. We went to church and I was frozen, should have put my fleece on under my coat, but it's rather bulky when already wearing a long sleeved top and a woollen jumper. When we came out it was raining.
We are going to friends for a latish lunch today.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Afternoon all. One of the centres was shut today so went along to another one we haven't been to for a while. Had a good browse, they were selling off all the Xmas stuff for 50% or less but no plants that we wanted. I did find a nice coat in the sales though, a long padded coat that's lovely and warm. OH got some weed killer for the driveway.
Hello all. We've had a rivetting Sunday so far. Been to the tip to get rid of a load of cardboard etc and been to B&Q to get some loft insulation material to re-lag the tap box where the stop cock failed on Friday. Thought we'd better get that job done before temps dip down to freezing tonight. It was cold working outside in the wind.
Think Hazel might need her new coat this week๐ฅถ
Glad your OH is enjoying his new job Debs - it looks as though it will have been a good move.
After reading some of your posts I did a quick reccy in the garden. Plenty of snowdrops starting to poke though and lots of hellebores starting to bud up. The viburnum bodnantense and winter honeysuckle are in full flower and the sarcococcas are well on the way. I'm sure that on a warm, still day the perfumes would be delicious. Not quite the same when it's cold and windy!ย
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
Good afternoon everyone. I do hope you have all had good - if cold - days today. It sounds like you have made a very wise purchase Hazel if the forecast is anything to go by.
How is the finger today T'Bird? I noticed a lot more snowdrops poking up but the one I was telling Rez about the other day was looking bowed under with the rain:
I've had enough of sorting out terracotta for today - will continue tomorrow. My witch hazels are in flower as is my Viburnum 'Dawn' and I did catch a lovely scent from my Sarcoccocca near the back door. Spotted some hellebores but it was raining (drizzling) too much so I'll leave that picture until tomorrow.

LB, beautiful photo. Love snowdrops, it's sign that spring is near. We have quite peculiar name for snowdrops, it's visibaba (visi=hanging and baba=grandma).ย
I'm little bit ashamed to admit that I overslept almost whole afternoon. It's pouring outside, so any kind of work was impossible.ย It's late for dinner, but I'll have a small bite with hot tea.ย ย
Hello there Ante. You probably needed that sleep after all your hard work yesterday building your raised bed. I love that name for the snowdrop Ante. It is quite a good description. Its still raining here Ante - you are not alone!

Have just checked our weather forecast for next week and it's going to be in a minus figure or feeling like a minus figure, every day until Saturday..what fun. Signing out for tonight.
Good night Hazel. I am signing out too - looking forward to 'Happy Valley'. I'm recording the new 'Vera' to watch at another time. See you all in the morning.
