    Hi all

Terrible nights sleep, rain absolutely hammering against the windows, don’t think I will be doing much today.
Did anyone watch 1917 last night, very moving. Kept thinking it was probably a bit like Ukraine is today.

    Good morning all

still so dark outside, it seems I have to wait until 6th January for the light to come one ONE minute earlier and sunset one minute later but then it will pick up momentum and spring will be here soon.
Had a good laugh with son about the state of his underwear, even got a big fat kiss for buying him replacements. So, all is well really except that he will leave tomorrow. Hayho, life it is.

    have all a good day.

  • Good morning all 😊 ☕️
Your verandah looks idyllic @Pat E  … you must be so happy that you had that done 😊
It was a bit windy even here last @punkdoc … I could hear it gusting in the chimney. I can’t watch programmes like that any more … I used to, but I just find them too distressing now … can’t bear it. 😢
OH has had new undies and socks this Christmas @coccinella … he says they’ve significantly improved  his quality of life 😂
Thanks for the sunrise/sunset times. 🌞

    Morning everyone and G’day Pat.

Off today as I worked Boxing Day. Heavy rain here, but might calm this afternoon.

I like those daylight calculators @coccinella. In just a few weeks, there will be nearly an hour more daylight (hurray) but mostly as the sunset is later, so the mornings will be dark for a while yet.

It’s a festive lull this next few days isn’t it. The Norwegians call it “Romjul” I think. I do have another term for it but it’s not very elegant so I won’t share!

Have a calm, cosy/cool day all.

    Morning all
its very wet and miserable here today so I doubt I’ll be going far. Instead I think I’ll settle down with one of my new books.
That’s a cheering thought @AuntyRach, an extra hour of daylight soon. Something to look forward too.
Well, breakfast calls. Have a good day everyone.

I'm doing something I don't think I've ever done before (except when poorly). I have the tv on before late morning ... I'm watching The Third Man (Orson Welles version - is there any other?)  B)

OH is at work ... supper is cold beef and salad ... there's no room to dry any more washing, the house is clean and tidy and it's raining outside ... so why not? After all, I'm knitting OH a jumper ... that's being useful isn't it  o:)  😂
