    Evening.

    Horrid rain here too.

No NYE partying here either. We used to go to parties and have hosted a few, but these days I am happy to skip the buffet prep/sleeping on the floor at a friend’s/ hangover/ germ mingling.

Grim in the hospitals so, in danger of sounding like a public service announcement, keep safe and minimise risks folks.

Thanks @steephill. Bit of a hiccup here, I've just found out that sitting the knives in their round block in the existing place means it's not easy to extract them - cupboards overhead! Never thought of measuring the available height! Whoops. Might have to re-organize the kitchen.

Hello everyone. My best wishes to all who have been suffering.

We don’t bother with NYE celebrations, but there are some neighbours who usually liven up the valley. No doubt we will have a disturbed sleep, but each to his own.  I only hope it doesn’t go on too long. (Motor bikes revving, fireworks going off, people cheering etc).

Anyway, happy new year to all.

  • Good morning all 😊 ☕️
I’ve just checked and it’s around 6:30pm where you are @Pat E so only a few hours to go until next year for you. Let’s hope it’s a better one than we’ve just had 🤞
I had a hectic day yesterday as Wonky and I were helping her brother to move. She’s helping again today bless her ❤️ but I’ve got the day off.

  • Morning all,

Taken a last minute break to Bordeaux for New Year, Nice to be around people rather than sat home alone and the Tearoom is shut New Year's Day so no need to worry about it. Only a couple of hours away and a lovely city. Charlie is very impressed with the hotel, massive TV on the wall in his room said "Welcome Charles Masterson" They have a lovely rooftop bar too, a pool and a gym. Off for a run along the river before we go exploring.

Happy New Year to all. I hope it is a better year than the last for many of you, it has been very tough for some I know. We live in hope. xx

    Morning all.

I hope you have a wonderful time @D0rdogne_Damsel. I haven't been to Bordeaux for a while, except for Ikea with my daughter last year. My children were at Uni there years ago, before they built the motorway and re-vamped the town.

The foecast is for sun today, but it hasn't appeared yet. I'm planning a gardening day.

    Good morning all,
wishing you all a happy New Year, and hope that it’s going to be better than 2022 was for so many as @D0rdogne_Damsel says.
Enjoy your short break with Charlie in Bordeaux, D0rdogne.
A quiet day here again, then popping over to a neighbour this evening to welcome in 2023.
