Afternoon folks, heavy rain here since 10 am but managed my daily walk in the dry thankfully. Thought I'd better get some exercise in after our long drive yesterday.

@tui34, you and I must be of a similar age then - in our prime!

@Didyw, that doesn't sound good about your plumber, you mentioned jabs, did he have both Covid and flu then? Pleased you now have warmth, makes all the difference doesn't it. I can't bear feeling cold and get really miserable. Would rather be warm than eat.

That's extremely annoying @Busy-Lizzie, hope it wasn't anything too important.

I've been good today and done the h/w. OH will hoover this afternoon (I hope) and I've just got some ironing to do before our next trip to see family.

Good pictures @Pat E. Hope you're beginning to feel better with the new medication.

He had both jabs in the same arm @Lizzie27.  Congrats on getting in a walk and the housework!  We are all hoovered and tidied up now.  But there is still a pile of ironing...

Haven't yet done the ironing either @didyw but I've had a trip down memory lane, polishing my Mum's silver Apostle teaspoons to give to my sister over the weekend - and other silver spoons I had collected nearly 30 years ago. It was my job as eldest daughter to polish them on Sunday afternoons, plus brass candlesticks and a rose bowl.
The silver polish smell took me right back.

My kids don't any of what I call my "treasures" and my sister holds a big coffee morning for Macmillan each year, using old fashioned china so the spoons will come in handy.

I've been writing my Christmas letter. It has photos in it this time but my printer won't print red so the Jewel bed is a bit disappointing.

    Good morning!!

Same here @Dovefromabove  and @Pat E   Crisp and bright.  Sun is up.  The day promises to be sunny with no wind.  Clement temperature of around 17°C.  That'll do!!

Today is the feast day of Saint Catherine, so a happy day to you!

Morning all, wet and miserable down this way! I really need to get out in the garden to do some tidying but we don't seem to be getting any dry days at the moment, but shouldn't complain as we need the rain.
Catch up with you all later.

Afternoon all.  Good meeting this morning with the chap who is going to take over running the street markets from me and he is going to shadow me all day at the forthcoming Christmas Market.  Which is good because it means I can help out on the stall where the raffle will be.  The lady running it has to disappear for lunch in the middle of the day - family visiting so we're lucky to have her around this time.

After the meeting I had a very pleasant time popping into various shops picking up little bits for my daughter's birthday.  It was on Tuesday, but we're going for a meal together tomorrow.  She has already had her main present (a rather nice cardigan).

    Good afternoon all,

Its been a much brighter and drier day today, so I was able to get into town to buy a door curtain for the door between the kitchen and garage. Despite having a new main garage door, the draft was still coming through this side door a bit (not as much, but still noticeable), so I’m hoping the curtain will help.

No gardening done today, though I really should attempt to rake up some more leaves. Perhaps tomorrow if it remains dry.
