  • It is an awful time isn't it @floralies , but so exciting at the same time. I am hoping, that as there is no chain, I am not selling, the other lady is not buying, the house is empty, I even know the lady, that is will be fairly straightforward. However, this is France, and house buying is never a simple process anywhere. As I said, it's all fingers crossed and positive thoughts, I am just trying to enjoy the anticipation and then keep myself busy.... your poor friends, 4th time lucky I hope for them.

    Morning all.

Sun and showers here so far.

HW and Christmas cards to do. Dining room table is covered with them.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Breakfast with the donkeys again! Cold but brilliant sunshine. There is a sea view, but I can’t even looked at it, as the sun is reflected off the water, and is quite blinding. We will have a walk, then a bit of shopping. Garden centre first, OH wants more stuff for the terrarium he is planting up, then diy store for paint, and Dunelm for pillowcases and an extra blanket for the cold nights. Must force myself to sweep up some leaves this afternoon, but brain is not in gardening mode at all. Starting to feel fraudulent, posting on a gardening forum while I’m not feeling at all motivated. I do so enjoy the camaraderie in the Potting Shed though!
@D0rdogne_Damsel, I don’t envy you doing the house buying process. I have sworn if we do it again, I will get a prescription for Valium before we start, and stay on it till we move in!

So pleased to hear your news @punkdoc.  But can we say the same for @Hostafan1
Fingers crossed the house sale goes through @D0rdogne-Damsel.  It sounds promising...
Hope you are feeling better now @AuntyRach.  And how annoying @PatE!
Are you all watching old films on the black & white channel (well, that's what we call it, can't remember its proper name)?  We were doing that a while back but then forgot about it.
At daughter's for her (late) birthday yesterday.  We were going to go to a Japanese restaurant in a nearby town but eldest g'daughter ill with a temperature.  So SIL drove and brought our orders as a takeaway. Delicious. GD able to eat a bit.  It seems there is scarlet fever in the school. No rash for her so fingers crossed.
Christmas cards not even bought yet!  Must pop to the library where they always have a good selection.

I spoke to hosta on line, last week and he is very miserable, but making plans, which seems a good thing.

Do pass on hugs and best wishes to Hostafan, always a worry when we don’t hear from one of the regulars for a while.
Punkdoc, very relieved to hear you have been pronounced alive! I do hope your extraction site is now back to normal? That certainly took longer than it should have done, I wonder if you did have a perforated sinus?
Back from the shopping trip, with almost everything on the list! I was just psyching myself up to start leaf sweeping, when it started to rain. Another temporary reprieve!

Thanks @Ergates, tooth socket healed now, as you say seemed to take a long time, but I am pleased it is over.

    Warning grumpy alert…

Feeling grim this evening as I seem to have the virus that keeps on giving! Really painful and bunged-up head now which is particularly uncomfortable when I cough. Which is a lot. Couldn’t even enjoy my chicken dinner leftovers as I can’t breathe easily or taste much. 😩 Probably going to miss my work xmas ‘do’ on the weekend at this rate.

Right sorry folks. I might post a ‘poorly’ thread so I can keep my moaning away from here. I hope you are all ok.
My garden and I live in South Wales.
