How funny @Busy-Lizzie, Hubby and I discovered that film on one of our rainy John and a Yoko days... ( Not getting out of bed!,) We absolutely loved it and soon realised you just have to watch it as a period piece and not expect it to be politically correct! 🤣

I also watched School for Scoundrels  but was a bit cross when it finished as I was really wanting to see one of my very favourite old films The Titfield Thunderbolt, listed as following. But the Thunderbolt had obviously taken off into the blue yonder as another film was shown in its place. I stomped off to make myself a cuppa and am still not in the best of moods lol!

That's funny @AnnaB because we recorded the Titfield Thunderbolt after it and it was that. We watched it this evening but it was a few minutes late so we missed the last 4 minutes.

  • You can tell it has been a miserable wet afternoon,  we watched The Titfield Thunderbolt too. As the old saying goes they don't make them like that anymore.

I went into town this afternoon for my scan, only to be informed that my appointment was last week!   Not happy!  So - the person who told me the date had it wrong. I always stand at the wall calendar in the kitchen to write down important dates, so it couldn’t have been me getting it wrong. 🤬.   So - next week now.   I can just imagine my GP’s reaction when I see her tomorrow. I’m still breathless which I find very annoying.

    Good morning all!!

Dark and raining here with a stiff wind to boot.  The temperature has gone up to 11°C this morning, but it is humid.

Poor you @Pat E  I can appreciate the trip into town as being a major hike.  Easy mistake to make, at least they can fit you in next week.

    Have a pleasant day ...

    what a nuisance @Pat E 😒
6C dark and a bit foggy here … we now have a week of disruption along the rise while the gas folk are renewing the pipes … they seem quite organised, so far … but it’s going to be difficult at school coming and going times … the police visited the at the end of school the other day, explaining how it would impact on the parents dropping off children … but there will have been folk they missed ….
Have a good week everyone …

  • Morning all,
Thanks for all the good wishes regarding the house purchase, I'm taking all positive vibes and hanging on to them for good luck.

Keeping myself distracted from worrying about it by baking Christmas Cakes and Puddings, start Mince Pies today too. Lots of activities organised at CdeG in December, so I'm hoping this 'la, la land' period will pass quickly.

Charlie is back at school this morning but he has his training schedule for the marathon with him, I've given my permission for him to be allowed out of school for training purposes, he's very dedicated, I just need to get myself organised with my training schedule. I don't like running in the dark, so I'm going to try and finish work early 3 afternoons a week and do an hour or so. Really need to build up my stamina, I've not run for so long.

Anyway, must get on. Have a good day all, and best wishes for those not feeling in top form. xxx

  • Good morning everyone, a bit brighter here today, it's supposed to be drying up but getting cooler this week.
How annoying for you @Pat E,  I was told off once for missing an appointment,  I was very cross with them, they had cancelled one and not informed me of the new one.
Fingers crossed @D0rdogne_Damsel, you certainly don't hang  around,  hope it all goes well.

Morning all, very wet today so thought I would clean the oven!
We have friends @D0rdogne_Damsel who are selling their house and have been let down in the "la la land period" three times, they are very stressed with it all as they are now on to their fourth buyer! I'm sure it will all be well for you though, so keep baking those gorgeous cakes and keep busy!
