Well done @Biglad on the several hundred pounds, don't go and lose it.

I've been to the Gardening Club Christmas meeting. There was a power point talk about flower arranging with emphasis on Christmas decorations. We had coffee, mulled wine and biscuits and a chance to chat. Then there was a quiz, based on A Partridge in a Pear Tree. I joined with a nice lady who I'd met before and we won it, box of Quality Street. We passed it around the table but the others all said to keep it for my grandchildren. Then there was a good lunch, based on finger foods and a glass of wine or orange juice. After lunch we sang Christmas songs accompanied by a man on a keyboard. The club uses a Community CafΓ© only 5 minutes from my house.

I'm glad the garage has my winter tyres because a warning light has come on to say the summer tyres need adjusting but there doesn't seem to be anything the matter with them.

Topbird, sorry you've succumbed to sharing your OH's Β wretched cold, just as you're planning on going away. When do you go to your MIL's? Steady away and hope it calms down before you go away.
Biglad, you sound as if you've been working hard but also that the CA has Β been in use.
Busy,,nice afternoon for you and well done for winning some chocs.

Afternoon all. Boy was I glad to get back from Bestie's. It is positively Baltic out there. I've been watching - well until it went too dark outside - a wonderful kestrel hovering over the back field. I've filled the bird feeders, replaced the bins and am locked down for the evening.
Rosie, I am glad that you are keeping nice and warm - very necessary at the moment.
RedM, I hope that your Pilates class limbered you up so you were able to tackle the tree. That job has sort of slipped down my list until next week now.
Wotcher @Biglad, I was beginning to think your CA had eaten you! I've been dipping in and out of some of the matches. There have been several unexpected results. Come to the conclusion that when it comes to penalty shoot outs the Japanese are too polite to blast the ball like a rocket. You seem to have been doing some great indoor sorting. I often look now at my living room furniture and wonder how on earth it got into the room!
Busy what a perfectly marvellous recount of your super Gardening Club Christmas meeting. It sounds as though you had a lovely time and well done you and your partner on winning the quiz. You could maybe ask your garage people to check your summer tyres for you? Better to be safe.

Busy, I forgot to say that I succumbed to buying a real Christmas tree this year but I think it is even more dinky than yours!
It is only 18cm high (about 7 inches in old money!). I could not resist it and at least it isn't lathered in that fake snow. I don't think it will take long to decorate it!

    Good evening to all.

LB, so cute little tree, I really like it. Please, don't overdo yourself decorating it. 😁

As I predicted, it was very busy day. It was grey and dark, but dry, so I managed to hang most of my lights. The most important I finished with big tree, without injuring myself or tree. Half an hour ago it started raining. I must sort a few more thing before tomorrow's trip. But first I'm going to make cup of tea and read back.

Ante, I am a bit worried I may have to get my big ladders out to reach the top!
Pleased to read that you managed to get most of your lights in place.
