Good morning everyone .I haven’t opened the curtains yet I hope we haven’t got snow . LB sounds as though you have got quite a covering of snow . Do take care if you intend driving .
Good morning Ante and Ruby. I have to say I have a childish delight in the first snow of the winter. We didn't have any here last year - only rain - so this snow is quite special. You did have a good shopping time yesterday Ante and I'm sure that your sister will be pleased to receive the treats you are making for her.
Ruby, I have to deliver my cakes to the hall for 13:00 so I do hope I don't have to dig out the car. I've just had a phone call from handy brother - back from his turkey and tinsel holiday in Bridlington. He said it was cold but lovely. Bridlington looked very run down but his trips to York (his birthplace) and Beverley were especially nice. He and the choir he is in are singing outside their local library this afternoon and he has got snow there too so he is not sure if its going to go ahead or not.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
Frosty out everyone. Ante the sleep will have done you good. LB I hope you have winter boots for the snow, wrap up warm. I made porridge and have had some more tea. Take care everyone.
Morning Rosie. I will be wearing a pair of my thermal socks from the 3-pack I bought yesterday. I am calling this a consumer test as I am expecting them to work. Time will tell!

Another keen frost here, but no snow yet thank goodness. Good morning everyone. Just having a quiet cup of tea then off to get dressed ready to start the day. Take care all who have snow when out and about - no slipping. Enjoy the baking @Ante1.
Snow here as well in the east Lancashire hills. It will stop one of the intended projects for the weekend going ahead. I've got the ingredients (but no practical knowledge!) to re-lay the patio. Several of the slabs are loose/uneven. It needs re-doing pretty soon before the bike shed gets moved back by the builders (from next door).
I'll have to stick to the ongoing renewing of the playroom and tidying ahead of the return of the kids from their week in the sun. The temperature difference will be a shock to the system
I also want to make a 1st attempt at making mince pies and a 2nd at festive cake. What to do first?
Morning everyone. No snow here but a good frost everywhere. It's very cold brrr.....2w are popping into town in a while but we will be heavily wrapped up and I think the time has come for me to get my winter gloves out. They are fur lined and waterproof too. I did purchase a new winter coat for myself just recently, (; exactly the same as the one I now have but a different colour and from the same place);but I'm quite disappointed in it as it so lightweight and ,although the material is supposedly the same, it doesn't feel the same at all. It's not suitable for days like today at all. No warmth in it. The makers must have scrimped on the material and linings and charged more for it. So, I will continue to use my old winter coat for now. For those going out, wrap up warm and go steady if walking or driving. I've just heard a neighbour scraping his car windows down. Our car is in the garage at this time of year.
Frosty here too this morning. I hope you manage to deliver your cakes in the snow, LB. They sound delicious, you have worked hard.
We went to the C of E Christmas Fair in a village 10 minutes away. It was very bright and busy. OH bought an Asda Christmas pudding and I bought pressies for a couple of granddaughters and several packets of English Christmas cards at English prices, solved my card shortage problem. I bought 5 tickets at the bottle tombola and won 2 bottles of sparkling wine and 1 of rosé. We both guessed the weight of a cake. We had coffee, OH had 2 of the mince pies I'd made at the coffee stall. I was glad to see my spiced apple fruit cake was finished by the time we left. There were several people I knew there, from the gardeners' club, the walking club and church. Quite a lot of French people were there too.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

LB, be careful when going outside. Hope thermal socks work fine.
