Good morning everyone. A very hard frost out there this morning so if anyone is going out put your crampons on! I've got my last Canasta session this Friday and I'm taking 2 dozen mince pies so the weather better not worsen or I'll be forced to eat them myself!
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
Hazel, I did wonder where the peach trees had snuckered in. You can grow peaches - with care - in this country. They flower early in the year so protection from frost is necessary. Apparently a peach variety called 'Peregrine' is the best one to grow in the UK.

Good morning everyone . LB we have a hard frost this morning too.I hope everyone wraps up if they are going out . Your friends at your Canasta class will enjoy your mince pies.Hope you will be able to get there.
I have 2 peach trees here in Dordogne but I haven't had any peaches yet as the blossom was killed by frost in 2021 and 22.
LB, CB fitted the security grill on the study window on Monday.
My car was to have had winter tyres fitted today but they haven't arrived, should be next week. I'm going Christmas shopping instead for presents for 7 of my grandchildren. Going to the big town 30 mins away as my local small town doesn't have enough choice.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Good morning all. Not had chance to read back but hope all are well. Frosty here this morning.Β
Busy week so far had tea with sister and friends on Monday night then yesterday was my annual trip to Trentham gardens with youngest daughter and Tom. Bought a few festive bits and some presents not much more to buy now.Β
Work today and big son comes home for a few days tonight. Need to tidy his room as the cats commandeer it when he is away. He doesnβt mind a bit of fur but I need to check there are no β presents β waiting for him.Β
Busy, enjoy your shopping trip. Wrap up warm and I hope you find suitable gifts for all those small people.
Debs, Trentham Gardens used to be a regular place to go for end of year trips from school. I haven't been there in ages but need to put it on my 'to do' list again as I did like it very much. Are you sure big son wouldn't like a rat or two??
