Afties all. It's very cold here today, the temperature has'nt got into double figures yet brrr Popped out first thing and then I tested out the new hot flat metal thing. Working perfectly👍 OH has been out laying more slabs across the lawn, which involves digging out grass, levelling, putting sand in, levelling and then the slab goes on top. He's put two more down but has admitted defeat in the cold. Not a day to be doing outside jobs. Hope everyone is keeping warm today.
Busy - admin days can be a real pain but once all the work is finished you get a real sense of relief and can wear the smug face. I hope you did manage to get in touch with Orange. Did your roses arrive and have you been able to get them planted?
Hazel, I took advantage of a decent start to the day to get some woollen items hand washed and out on the whirligig. I moved some half hardy perennials into the greenhouse and moved some pelargoniums from the greenhouse into the house. I cut them back to some decent shoots and kept one shoot as a cutting. I got these from Bestie who adores pelargoniums - and the REAL ones! It has started to get very chilly here now so I don't blame your OH for coming indoors to thaw out. I've put the bin out and my empty milk bottle and cranked up some heating.
I might do some more knitting. I have got bargain balls of dish cloth cotton. I like knitting my own dish cloths and I'm on to my third one now.

Hazel, nice that new iron works perfectly. Your Oh must be frozen after all that work outside.
LB, I'm glad that you are bit better today. You are like loom with all your knitting.
Here is raining whole day. It's PITA for me when I must walk Max, but rain is what our soil need at most. I hope that we will have wet winter. My deliveries didn't arrived, but I got my Christmas cards. Now I can sort them before any rush. It's time for dinner and tea.
Oh crumbs, Ante,m you've reminded me we still have xmas cards to write😬 Completely forgot about them.... LB, you've managed to do quite a lot of gardening today, well done. The fresh air will have helped to keep your head clear too, glad to hear the cold is on its last legs. I'm having a flare up of Rhuematism, it's hitting my neck, shoulder and wrists now, gawd🙁 Ante, we, too, are having loads of rain here, tomorrow is going to be particularly bad, raining all day. Busy, hope you've managed to get your new plants out today.
Hazel I like to listen to the bird song too. I hope your oh managed to get back to sleep. Lily my Christmas wrapping paper arrived today. I must set aside some time to do the wrapping. LB a cooler day today. I had my winter coat with me. I’m trying Alfie on some new food and he seems to approve. Just adding a little more each day to his bowl and reducing his previous food. Recording Foyles War as on quite late and I do like Michael Kitchen. Ante hope all is going well. Enjoy your evening everyone. Top bird hope you are in comfort on your adventures.
Ante, I can agree about walking a dog in the rain and it being a pain. One of our pets when we were all at home was a springer spaniel called Marco. He loved water! He took a great delight in having an all over big shake when we got in, splattering everything in reach with water! His tail never stopped wagging - even when he was being told off. He had a very soft mouth and we used to give him an egg and he would carry it around in his mouth for ages without breaking it. We would then say 'OK Marco. Eat your egg', he would then crack the egg and eat all the contents leaving the shell for us to clear up. He was a very sweet dog - terrified of thunder and fireworks. I have my cards already to write now.
Hazel, my area has got weather warnings for heavy rain and possible flooding for tomorrow. Joy! Sorry to hear that your rheumatism is playing up. I would blame it on the new hot metal thing! I wonder if it is heavier than your last one?
Good evening Rosie. Its good to hear that Alfie is adapting to his new food well. Lily is an absolute nightmare with food. She does seem to enjoy her dry food diet though so I don't worry that she will go hungry as I always make sure that the bowl is full. I used to watch Foyle's War ages ago. I quite enjoyed it.

I think the colder weather triggers it LB. If it doesn't start easing soon I'll have to contact doctors as ali normally have to have steroids to help with the pain. Yes, we have the weather warnings for tomorrow too, joy indeed. Rosie, good to hear you've had your winter coat ready now, We've gone into our winter coats now, soon be time for scarves and gloves brrrr. Glad Alfie is adapting to his new food, always good to try and vary diets now and again. Hope you 're keeping warm. Has Topbird got back home yet I wonder? I seem to be losing track of times these days. Signing out for tonight folks, sleep well.
A very good morning all. Pleased to hear your plants arrived safely yesterday Busy and that they are all now settled. For once the rain is welcomed I'm sure. Not here though! I am taking my Bestie out for afternoon tea today - a belated birthday present. We might need waterproofs and waders though.

The roses and 6 geranium sanguineum arrived together with a sunny period so they are all planted now. The earth was wet and it has been raining again.
