Had a busy day today so have collapsed with knitting now and catching up. Rubee, I'm so sorry to hear that your OH isn't well with his jab. I've read so many times that people are having more of an after effect. I hope his telephone appointment allowed some helpful information and reassurance. Hope he starts to feel better soon. Busy, so pleased you and OH have made it this far this time round. Fingers crossed that all goes smoothly now until his operation. @star gaze lily, Β it's lovely to see you ( anytime you can pop in ) .Big hugs for you and OH. Take care.Β Debs, your baking prep sounds very well organised. I can imagine the smells emanating from the kitchen! Lovely. Biglad, sounds as if you've had a good weekend,....playing. Reckon the comfy armchair will be well in use this weekπ Popped to sons this afternoon and then OH cut both front and back lawns. They had grown quite long and have really thickened up after the last feed. a i've been busy doing unmentionables.Β
Has anyone heard of or got any experience of those portable plug-in heaters that are supposed to heat a room within 5 mins ? Would be interested to hear if they are any good.
Hazel, I bet that baby blanket is really growing quickly now. You have made so many that I bet you could do them in your sleep! I am not sure about those heaters Hazel. I have seen them advertised and wondered about them myself. I am looking at all possible ways to save on energy and BG told me in my latest statement that I have been paying too much and from next month my direct debit is being reduced by Β£10. That is nice to know.
Debs, that must be so frustrating for you having to head for a private clinic.
I am signing out for tonight. I hope that you are all enjoying your evenings and that Ante has managed to survive another Monday.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
That's a pain @debs. Most unhelpful unless there are valid reasons for denying you the extra / different meds. LB, son was talking about them today( heaters) and with a family of five to cater for ( and they all feel the cold unlike son) he is looking for ways to cut some costs too. You're right about the knitting of baby blankets, too, I don't Β need any pattern books and I don't need to look at what I'm doing either. All stored up in the brainπ Regarding BG reducing direct debit payments, during the summer months we sometimes could reduce our payments but we choose to let them remain at the old rate. This way, we " save up" credit to use over winter.Should come in very handy this year with prices going up. Talking of being cold, I was feeling cold a little earlier on and we put the heating on for a while. Soon went off again though when temperature reached. Signing out for tonight. Night all.
Good morning everyone. Hope you all slept well. Another day dawns and it is my youngest sister's birthday today - the one who lives quite close to you Hazel. I need to press on with my knitting today and am expecting a delivery of some more bird food - either today or tomorrow.

Good morning everyone . Hazel OH has had an allergic reaction to the Covid injection. Doc has given him some anti sickness pills and some electrolyte replacement medicine . The replacement medicine is yet to arrive at the chemists . There was a mix up and we had to contact the docs again .In the interim I have ordered some from Ramazon to come today just in case there are more problems . It is a readily available over the counter product .LB I knitted a nativity set for a friend .Itβs a good job she asked me in the September .She wanted the full scene ,Mother ,father ,baby ,wise men ,sheep, manger. I did enjoy knitting it but the small sheep and baby challenged my eyesight. Hazel my memory is dreadful ,I would have to refer to a pattern these days no matter how many times I have knitted it . Enjoy your day everyone.
Morning all, late up this morning after a poor nights sleep. LB, meant to say that I feel caught up with the surprise on Dr Who on the iPad news( don't watch morning TV). A very happy birthday to your sisterπππ°π₯π₯³π Rubee, sorry, I didn't realise your OH had had an allergic reaction to the jab, sorry to hear that and I hope you manage to get the correct treatment soon for him. Waiting in for a couple of parcels today so not venturing far today.
Had a quiet morning but the sun has come out so have spent a bit of time doing some gardening. Cut back some hostas and then tackled one of the clematis. I know it's probably the wrong time for it but the arch is collapsing( a result of storm Arwen) so OH is going to fix it. I was absolutely covered in Dust and seeds from the clematis from pulling / cutting it down.Β
Hazel must be sleeping already after all that work she and OH done. I survived Monday and Tuesday, barely. Here is still unusually warm and sunny, so I must water my garden and crops every second day. This week I expect four deliveries, all pets food except new winter tires. Then at Friday I must go to the vet with little cat. She feels excellent, and behaves like before operation. Next week we have short break, so we will not have school. Now I'll have small snack and tea, then must read back.
