It's much colder in SW France too. No frost yet though. Not raining but we've had a lot of rain recently and there is more to come.
I slept badly and woke late, nearly 9am. France is an hour ahead of the UK. Now having coffee in bed, but I lit the stove first so it will be warm when we go downstairs.

Morning all. Rained here too, again, during the night, so you are not alone @Ante1. One extreme to the other. Hope the leaky window is only a small job for you. Eek indeed LB, Snow! Oh no! Ante, get well wrapped up now. I had a " smashing day " yesterday....I scooped OH's mug off the side in the kitchen as Β I was Β taking the kettle to the tap and it smashed on the ceramic tiles so hard, shards of it went all up the hallway! As it was a bone china one we will pop out this morning and see if we can replace it. All our other spare mugs are too big or clunky. Then I will be testing our my new hot flat thing again.... I must start wrapping some Xmas presents too, we're nearly there, only four more weeks to go. Don't know where this year has gone at all. Rheumatics playing up a little this morning so will keep on with the steroids to take the full course. The flaming joys of getting old.
Gosh @Songbird-2 you've reminded me about Christmas cards and my letter. As I send a lot to the UK I had better get on with it, there may be postal strikes.
Raining, just when OH has gone out to mend the veg garden gate.

Good idea @Busy-Lizzie, I've read on the news that the post are striking on Christmas Eve....of all times,so yes, get your cards and letter away sooner rather than later.Β
I decided against using that thing @Busy-Lizzieπ€ It will wait for another day. Have spent a quiet day pottering and knitting and I did spend a little time in the garden, Have sowed some grass seeds on some patches but doubt they will take, too cold. However, nothing ventured.....it was actually nice to get outside whilst the sun made a brief appearance.
Hello all. Well I must have picked up the 'fluence' from you Hazel as I have spent ages today writing cards. I have to say that after a while it gets brain numbingly boring. I also wrapped several gifts. I am using up a stash of cards I had from last year and am giving serious consideration to sending e-cards from now on - apart from to the people who do not have the internet.
Sorry to hear about your broken mug and the rheumatism flare up. Hope that you feel more comfortable now. I think you are right about the grass seeds.
Here is a copy of the proposed postal strikes that SGL sent to me before December 24th was mentioned:

Hazel, hope you are feeling better. It's nice that you managed to spend some time in the garden.
LB, you can relax now. Christmas cards are all done. Hope postal strikes will not cause unnecessary delays.Β Β
I was at Lidl and bought lot of nice stuffs for cakes and Christmas. It wasn't nice to drive on weather like ours. Now is much better, still high wind but no rain. My whole house smell like August. Green tomatoes are ripe on the balcony, and I'm making tomato sauce for long winter months.Β Β
Oooh Ante! Lots of lovely things for cakes eh? Mmmmm. My cakes have had their first dose of brandy - another one due tomorrow. When I was with Bestie last Thursday we were looking at the ready to roll marzipan.
Your own tomato sauce will be delicious Ante - all those home grown pickles and sauces will be a lovely reminder of your hard work this year.
p.s. I am looking forward to seeing your Advent wreath.
