I am knitted out for today. Looking forward to quiz night but NO Mastermind!
I did some gardening first thing this morning but my hands were very cold. I had to come in at 11 to hug a mug and thaw them out. Had a problem with my VM services and WhatsApp was down for a while. Got an electrician coming out next Tuesday to replace my failed security light in the back garden. This was not related to the attempted burglaries but it did fail on the same day.
Hazel, am I dreaming or did you not get a lovely new arch for your clematis?
Ruby, I hope that your OH is feeling a little more like himself today.

I did some gardening today too, weeded the front garden.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
  • Belated Birthday Wishes to Topbird I hope you had a lovely day. ย Very changeable weather sunny spells, clouds and rain but we probably needed a downpour. ย Quiz night tonight. ย I watched an amazing film entitled Harriet who rescued many slaves including running away herself. ย She was known to many as Moses and led the way to freedom for many slaves. ย She remarried and had a family and at last she could keep her own children rather than them being sold. ย An amazing woman.

LB, no,you're not dreaming! Yes we got a new arch but we have two in the back garden! Replaced one which broke in two when it was blown over but the other archway didn't quite collapse so OH shored it up as it was badly bent but not broken. With the weight of two clems growing up it I guess one of the joints completely snapped in two.OH says he's going to repair it tomorrow now.
Rosie, so nice to see you.The film you've watched sounds really interesting. I remember watching ย the original TV series " Roots" and still find it really upsetting. Harriet sounds an amazing lady. Hope you and Alfie are doing ok these days? Hope your dad is feeling a little better today.๐Ÿคž
Ante, we are pretty tired tonight but not quite asleep yet! Won't be long though. Hope you enjoy next week off school,no Monday to get get up for, hurray!ย

Ha ha ha Hazel, yes that thought did cross my mind when I was starting this thread. Incredible.
Busy, how is your back after that work in your garden today? Hope its behaving!
Ante, it seems strange to hear you talk about having to water still but I'm pleased to hear that little cat is as good as new.
Rosie, it is so nice to see you. I think films like that are so moving - make me cry.
I am signing out for this evening. Hope you are all enjoying the peace now. I am not a fan of these dark nights and mornings.
Thank you for the kind wishes for my sister.

Good morning all. @Ladybird4 Taken your advice and soaking fruit for Christmas cake for longer so baking on hold but made 6 jars of pickled onions including one in balsamic vinegar hope they turn out well.ย
Also popped into town for a few bits, voucher for friends birthday and some sweets for the weekend I usually do well for โ€œtrickle treatersโ€ as Maisie says.ย
Work later but fist I need to dispose of the young rat (dead) that one of my cats thought would make a fetching addition to my Halloween decorations. Yuk!ย
