    Ouch! Hazel.Β

No fireworks here tonight, have to wait for the 14th July.

It was a nice day. I planted 70 daffodil bulbs in the orchard this afternoon. Took me over 2 hours. Loads of cranes few overhead in great V formations on their way to warmer climes for the winter.

LB, like your description of 23πŸ‘πŸ˜‚ Perfect. Have a good evening and keep warm.
Ive finished for the day too so hoping to finish the latest baby blanket tonight, finished doing the " throw" the other day. Replenished my wool supply in town so I'm set for a night of knitting.
Hope everyone is doing okay. Β Hi πŸ‘‹πŸ‘‹to @star gaze lily, hope you are alright, πŸ‘‹πŸ‘‹ to @Chivetalking if she happens to be looking in at all.
    Night all.Β

    Good evening everyone.

Hazel, take a rest, you deserve at least peaceful evening after all. Hope your hand is better now.

LB, have a nice and warm evening.

Here was very cold and grey day. It came very sudden, so we felt it even harder. I planed to have easy day, but my friend, who is electrician, came to install light in four rooms. We spent a good three hours doing that. Now is time for dinner, hot cup of tea and tv. I didn't go to Lidl for Christmas candy.Β Β

Evening all. Sounds like you're all doing autumnal things. Hope the bonfire parties go well and the rest of you can enjoy somebody else's firework display. There are usually 3 cracking displays in the bigger villages within 2 miles of us - all in different directions. When 5th Nov falls Mon - Thur they seem to organise their festivities for different days. This year, I imagine our little village will be surrounded by fireworks between about 6 and 8pm tonight.Β

We didn't go up the mountain today. After a disturbed night (I KNEW I should have brought my own pillow in from the van!) I uttered a 4 letter expletive when the alarm went off at a very dark 7am. The weather is still forecast to be good tomorrow so we decided to roll over and doze for another hour. Then we cycled down into town and had an enjoyable mooch round (lots ofvery old timber framed and carved and painted buildings) before heading off to the brewery for dinner. As expected, most shops were closed by 1pm so it was pretty quiet by the time we came out mid afternoon. Several businesses are also closed for a couple of weeks between the end of summer tourism and the start of Christmas market seasons.

The weather is lovely - dry and sunny - but more than 10C cooler than last week at home. It will be very cold at the top of the Brocken (feeling like -6C today....) so I shall be taking my down jacket to pop under a waterproof / windstopper shell. Woolly hat, gloves and scarf will also get their first airing of the season.Β

Just enjoying a G&T now. No need to cook so I'll watching something on the ipad and read my book. See you tomorrow.

Morning all. Much better night so was able to roll out of bed at 7am today so, all being well, will be on a choo-choo in less than 90 minutes time.Β

Hope you're now deeply asleep Rubee. Have a good one everybody.Β

Good morning Ruby, T'Bird and everybody. I had a marvellous time last night. Haven't danced like that for ages. The ceilidh band was super and we were talked through all the different dances so noone was left feeling they didn't know what was going on. The drive home was very scary though as it was thick fog - exacerbated by bonfire smoke - for the last two miles and I almost missed my road as even the street lights had little effect on the fog. My car kept telling me to clean my screen as the front camera couldn't get a clear view!
Ruby I hope that you have managed to get back to sleep after being awake for so long.
T'Bird, enjoy your train trip and soak up the scenery. I bet it will be stunning. Definitely wrap up well.
Busy, I hope that your back is standing up well to all that bulb planting. Do you hsve a bulb planting tool or do you just use a trowel?
Hazel, have a lovely day today. I suspect knitting will have to wait until 23 has gone home though.
Ante, I was really cold when I arrived at the venue last night but I soon warmed up when I started dancing. I think you will be happy that you got that lighting job done yesterday. One less thing to think about!

    Good morning to all.

LB, I'm so pleased that you had marvelous night. I can't imagine myself dancing.

Sunny, windy and cold morning. I stayed one hour longer in bed. Today must do some prep work for tomorrow, and maybe plant tulips in pots.Β

Have a nice Sunday, now is time for tea.

Good morning all. Bonfire party was a great success just got all the clearing up to do today before we go to Wales for a few days on Monday. I think I am getting fiancΓ©s cold but he wasn’t poorly for long so not too worried.Β
Sounds like everyone is having a good November so farΒ

    Morning all.

Glad you had a great time, LB, and that you got home safely.

Also glad that the bonfire party was a success Debs. I hope your cold doesn't develop.

As my soil is quite heavy and stony in the orchard I plant daffodils in groups. I dig off the turf then dig the soil to loosen it, remove the biggest stones, plant the bulbs with a trowel then replace the turf.
