Morning all....just. Up and out early to the docs this morning for a blood test. All part of an annual care review which is booked for next week. Then popped into SM for some bits. The sun has come out although there is a bitterly cold wind about brrr.
LB, bet you're on tenterhooks about Jacks Β little cat.
Debs, good to hear you're feeling a bit better. Now you can make the most of your break away.Β
Hope everyone has a nice day.Β

    Afternoon all,

I signed up for the MOT reminder service in a bid to avoid it coming as a great surprise when it ran out. Epic fail :o I foolishly ignored the 30-day warning believing that I would then be bombarded with regular reminders. Got an e-mail this morning to confirm it expired yesterday. That month flew by!

I walked to the garage to book in and was amazed that they can do it first thing tomorrow (I'd assumed that there would be a Covid-related waiting list!). On the way there I saw (my first 'live') kingfisher darting along the river that runs through town. I didn't think we got them around here so that's put me in a good mood ;)

    Hello all.Β

Wet outside today. We got up late and I cut OH's hair. It was getting a bit shaggy.

I'm glad you are feeling a bit better, Debs.

I'm going to hem curtains this afternoon. I'll do it by hand as they are velvet, a soft grey.

Good afternoon all. Well another frustrating day! The wretched bus never turned up so I had to ring Spooksavers and say I wasn't going to make today's appointment and rearrange it. Luckily it is not a critical 'need'.
I rang Jack to see how things were with Kitty. He had made a mistake about the day that they were seeing the Vet - apparently its tomorrow and not today as he had told me. He sounded better on the phone and said that Kitty seems to be rallying. She had gone - in her wobbly fashion I'm guessing - to the conservatory door and 'asked' to be let out into the garden. She went out, wobbled round the garden a bit, went to the toilet and then wobbled back inside. It was good to hear the relief in Jack's voice and tomorrow when they go to the Vet, Kitty will be having a blood test apparently. I will keep you all up to speed with her developments.
Hope the blood tests went OK Hazel.
Biglad, I am glad you got in so quickly to get your car MOT'd. I never even knew that there might be a waiting time. How lovely to see a real live kingfisher. They are like a flying jewel. There is a nature reserve near me called Mere Sands Wood and kingfishers can been seen there regularly, I have been lucky enough to see a bittern and a water vole there too.
Busy, those grey velvet curtains sound wonderful. They should help keep the draughts out and the warmth in when you get them hung up in place.

    Goodnight LB.

Was doing a bit of wander round the back garden earlier on and noticed that our new clematis Piilu has a flower on it! Small but lovely. Hagley hybrid is in full growing mode( frosts will sort it out ) again, and more daffodil bulbs popping through.

Signing out for today. Night all.

Off to Bestie's today for some knitting and nattering. I'm taking her one of the cakes I made the other day. This is one of our 'traditions'. I've got another batch of fruit soaking in sherry ready to bake this weekend.

Good morning LB, Rubee and all to follow.

LB, have a nice time with Bestie. I must try to make one of your cakes, they sounds delicious, and I never try one.

I have school at 9am, so it means that I have one more hour before rush. After short period of wind and cold weather, we again have late spring temperatures. It's perfect for work outside in the garden. I felt very tired yesterday, so wasn't around here.Β

Wish you all lovely, warm day, and see you later.

Good morning Ruby and Ante. I noticed a few bulbs in my garden peeking through as well. My Viburnum bodnantense Dawn is flowering too and smells lovely, the Sarcococca outside the back door is covered in flower buds.
Ante, I will send you the recipe for the cake and then you can make one for yourself. I am not surprised that you feel tired - you have had an exhausting year. On top of all the sowing and planting you have had, all that watering to do as well.
