Ruby, how is your OH today? Is he over the vaccination reactions now?

Lovely to see you SGL. Quite understand about your priorities too. Just nice you can pop in now and again.
I've had my telephone consultation and it was not the medication news I thought it might be. Apparently my lower reading is 'brilliant' being way below what they want/expect it to be but my top reading is 4 points higher than they would like. I was told that she was reluctant to prescribe medication and asked me if I was doing anything such as diet etc. When I said I had lost over 1.5 stone since May watching my diet (I needed to after my raised cholesterol/sugar levels!) she said she was impressed and has recommended that she will get the practice nurse to contact me in three months for another ambulatory BP monitoring (the one I wore all day) so status quo. I just carry on doing what I have been doing. I did lose 1.2lbs whilst away in France!
Just waiting for my induction hob now.

    Morning all,

This week I will mostly be recovering ;) Spent the weekend pretending I was 19 again. Good fun but not in a rush to do it again in the near future!

The building work is progressing nicely next door. Not much rain is forecast this week, so they'll be able to crack on if that proves to be correct.

Good morning all. FiancΓ© off doing a hog roast so I finally got those onions peeled and have made a batch of plum jam, going to try rhubarb and ginger jam in a while. Last few stems of rhubarb to use up.Β
The dried fruit for the Christmas cake is soaking in brandy. My little moulds have arrived to make cakes for neighbours so the house should smell good tomorrow.Β
I have a doctors appointment later trying to sort out my HRT. Fingers crossed I get what I want without being nagged too much, I know it’s their job but I do hate being told what to do.Β
@star gaze lily thinking of you and OH.Β

Hello Lily good to see you . My OH isn’t good . He has had a bad reaction to his Covid injection .It’s always lovely to see you but we do understand you have Β priorities take care .

We've been to the hospital for OH's pre-op assessment. As usual his BP and pulse shot up but by the time he'd answered all the questions and the man went off to get copies of all the tests he'd had his BP started to come down. They asked a doctor to have a look at OH and he said all was fine.

Then we had to see an occupational therapist about aftercare, how to get in the car, have a shower, what height chair to sit on etc.

On the way home we had lunch in a pub.

@Biglad I'm willing to bet you would consider it again! I did think about you playing golf in all that rain yesterday - but maybe you passed on that delight.
Ruby I am so sorry that your OH is still struggling. I hope he gets some good advice on his telephone consultation.
Oh my Busy, it does sound like things are finally starting to fall into place. When my friend had her hips done she got a nifty frame to fix on the toilet to make things easier for her. They do have some very clever gadgets these days. Jack has got a collapsible seat fastened to the wall in his shower. It is good as it just folds down when not in use.

Definitely @Ladybird4 - I only said not in the near future ;) Plans for the next reunion are already afoot!

We got lucky - golf was on Saturday so we stayed dry (in weather terms anyway :D).

Good on ya @Biglad. Yes, Saturday was a decent day. Its been full on Marti here so no getting into the garden. I managed a load of knitting though after playing with my new 'toy'. I am very impressed with it.

Debs, as Ruby said, I bet it smells delish in your kitchen. I soak my fruit for at least a week though and in sherry not brandy. Hope you got your HRT sorted as well.
