    Morning all.

It was tipping with rain in the night.

I was thinking of @Yviestevie yesterday @Songbird-2. She didn't post at all in October. I hope she's OK. I wonder if she went to art classes.

I've been sorting out photos on the computer to make an album which I order online. Much better than sticking them in by hand which I used to do. Good thing to do when it's raining.

Messy looking nest @Ante1. Doesn't look very cosy, no soft moss lining.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Good morning Ante and Busy and all arriving later.
Wow Ante that is a gigantic nest. I think that your blackbirds and our blackbirds may be slightly different. UK blackbirds line their nests with mud fine grasses. Your nest looks like one of our rook or crow (two more but bigger black birds) nests. I would not like to have something as large as that landing on my shoulder. Was the nest in your Thuja? It is a good idea to burn the old nest - as you said - to destroy any lingering pest and parasites.
Hello there T'Bird. I was wondering when the Travels With T'Bird reports would begin. I LOVE hearing about all your adventures though have to say I would baulk at the idea of spending cold nights in a camper van. The heated cabin sounds far more attractive! I hope you see some snowy mountain tops if you go up the Brocken - watch out for the witches and devils!
You are right Hazel and Busy, I have been missing @Yviestevie too and hope that all is OK where she is.

Good morning all fiancé much better and changes are afoot as he took my son (who has been living with us since losing everything during lockdown ) for an interview at the pub he works in near Bristol and he got a job there as bar manager. So pleased for him as this proves his confidence is back and he wants to branch out on his own again. It’s work he will enjoy I hope and also lessens the strain on me having a grown up child living with us, fiancé has been so lovely about it but it’s not easy with the lack of privacy sometimes.
Son will still be home a fair bit on days off etc but the pub is part of a group and there is real opportunity for promotion.
Fiancé has also spoken to the people he has worked for doing weddings and I think that’s now over and done with after a couple of events this year.
Feeling much happier in myself if that makes sense?
@Ladybird4 sorry to hear about Jacks little friend hope things get better and he has more years with her.
@Ante1 they built that nest to last didn’t they? Makes you realise how clever birds are I am sure I couldn’t make myself a home from twigs and mud.
Dry here but cold though no frost as yet.

    Morning Bussy, LB and debs.

LB, it was in my thuja, and there is more , but much higher. Blackbirds build nests in this tree many years now. Here on the coast is too dry for moss, so we don't have any.

Debs, I'm so glad, both for your fiancé and your son. Hope you will soon have more privacy.

Btw, the nest is rock solid, and you will need a hammer to break it. It must be because it's made mostly of mud.

    Good morning Debs and Ruby.
Debs great news all round! Firstly the improvement in your Fiancé's health and secondly the positive news about your son. This must surely improve his well being and build his self respect. As you say, the knock-on effect of these positive events has helped to lift your spirits too. Win win all round! My day start sounds similar to yours - no frost but cold and the sun is shining.
Ruby, I will be crafting at some time today but I need to create carnage in the garage as it really does need a sort out. My garage is a bit like a giant cupboard. I open the door and stuff things in randomnly and its now reached a point where I NEED to get sorted (to a small degree anyhow!) That is today's plan!
Ante, good luck with breaking up that monster nest! I would quite like smashing it with a hammer!

    Afternoon all.

It's still raining and it's quite dark. I hate moving clock back. Most of the day I spent reading, and I'm finished with Christine Walkden book. It was quite interesting. I might pop to Lidl tomorrow. They put out all Christmas sweets.
Hope you all had a nice day.

Today's plan went out the window (they often do). It looked so nice outside I decided to get the bedding into Lily's TV. As the strains of the Trout signalled the end of the programme, the rain started. I weighed out some more fruit for a second seasonal cake and eventually Marti moved on and I got the wet cloth things out. I received an invitation to step into a Quiz team to play in a Charity Quiz tonight so I am looking forward to that. I tried ringing Jack but there was no answer. I've left a message for him.
I hope that you have all had good days and are looking forward to your evenings. No GW tonight but I expect some of the OHs will be watching that round ball stuff. I am signing out for tonight - better get my brain in gear again!

Afternoon everyone. Sunny and bright today, bit coolish but workable in. We popped to the famous DIY store this morning and go some slabs and sand and a lovely blonde lavender. OH has cut some grass out( just where I stand to hang out washing) which had sunk and was becoming very boggy and muddy. OH also dug out Montana, what a beast but it's gone. I've planted out a lovely evergreen fern there now which adds to a mini fernery we have to side of archway. A few more jobs to do and then we will be happy. Prepared for next year.....
Son is bringing 23 down on Sunday which will be lovely. Haven't seen him for a few weeks as son working allot of overtime just now.
Ive had an annual invite for a Care Review from surgery. Don't normally bother but decided I will this year.

Didn't post this earlier part of post, oops! Thought I had.

Rubee, such good news about your OH. He will be feeling great relief, I bet? Hope it continues.
Ante, sounds like a lovely day taking it easy and catching up with your reading.
LB, enjoy the quiz tonight, you've be "poached" for the night!
Im signing out too so have a good evening everyone.
