Thank you for your good wishes for OH's appointment. It started with yet another Xray. The surgeon said it was very bad, the state of his hip. He said the earliest he can do the operation is January and he also said that OH can come back to France with me and stay for Christmas. He has put OH on the urgent list which is roughly 3 months. I just hope it all goes smoothly this time. We have booked a flight back on the 1st November as OH has another check-up with the lung consultant, just a follow up, on the 28th October.

We went to Sainsbugs on the way home. Salmon for dinner, my favourite fish, with leeks and sugar snap peas, I'll make a sauce, then Sainsbugs lemon tart which is really nice and lemony.

  • Evening all,

Just enjoyed a lovely Asian Infusion meal, had a fabulous relaxing massage today, fell asleep, dribbled on the pillows 🤭, but all good.

60% thru my Cormoran Strike novel, so know all about Doom Bar beer. 😁

My friend had a successful hip operation yesterday, in pain, but a different kind of pain she said, very happy. Good luck @Busy-Lizzie for C in January.

    Starter this evening...

We didn't make it to the pudding course. 😁

Actually it was Adnams from the cask @didyw  🍻 👍 … and to think they used to say it didn’t travel 😋
We met up with friends who live nearby … drank beer, ate pizzas and put the world to rights until 7pm 😀.
Now for a quiet night in with soup and toast …

    Evening everyone.

Busy at work this week plus visits/keeping an eye on Dad who is under the weather on top of foot troubles/pain. Just made him up a chicken dinner to take tomorrow with his favourite roast parsnips. Good tv tonight so I’m just settling down.

Your holiday with a lovely mix of activity, massages and amazing food sounds fantastic @D0rdogne_Damsel

I hope you feel that there is some positive progress with operation plans for your OH @Busy-Lizzie. Any lemon tart left?

You’ve been busy @Lizzie27 - hope your gardening aches ease.

Go easy @punkdoc - it’s horrible that post viral phase where you think you are better but swiftly realise that you can’t do much.

Hope your ear was treated @didyw so you can feel more human.

@Dovefromabove - you are draining the pubs! Pics look lovely so hope you are really enjoying the holiday.

I can’t believe you are having such “splendiferous” weather @tui34. Missing the Summer  I must say. Its a blanket on the sofa situation here.

    Take care all, and everyone.

My garden and I live in South Wales.

Oh Busy-Lizzie, what a nightmare for you both. Can't believe your OH has got to wait yet another 3 months. Best wishes to you both.

DD, I'm not surprised you couldn't manage pudding, that looks smashing.

Dove, lovely to meet up with friends over a beer!

I love that kind if achey tiredness that comes from a good session in the garden @Lizzie27.  You'll sleep well tonight - if you're not asleep already!

I can't believe that C. has to wait another 3 months @Busy-Lizzie!  But good that he can spend Christmas with you in France.

That all looks very tasty @D0rdogne_Damsel!

Ah, Adnams - loyal to your roots eh @Dovefromabove!  Glad you are having such a lovely time.

My ear was looked at, it is compacted but not infected.  As soon as they have enough other people needing treatment they will put on a clinic for removal, could be a month.

Won't be around much tomorrow.  Meetings in both the morning and the afternoon and loads of leaflets to deliver around town.

    Night night all.

Hello Forkers.  I’m just trying to keep in touch, but slow news here. 😁

  • Morning,

Another beautiful day here. We are getting a bus to 'we don't know where' today, have a 5€ ticket we can use all day, hoping to find a nice marina we can walk around have a nice seafood lunch somewhere. But if we find a pretty cove or a few shops we'll be equally happy.

Hope your ear isn't too uncomfortable @didyw, shame they couldn't just do it there and then.

That chicken dinner sounds like a great treat for your dad @AuntyRach. I love a snuggly blanket on the sofa when watching tv too, hope you enjoyed the show.

Back to wordle now, I'd hit a wall.

    Good day all. :)

    Morning all.

Hello and welcome to Forkers @alex.alvarez123

    I'm glad you're having a good time @D0rdogne_Damsel.

Looks quite windy out there. I was going to deal with more of the dead middle lawn but rain is expected so maybe I'll do it tomorrow. I had backache yesterday, still a bit stiff.
