And I found a dog poo bag shoved into mine recently. What on earth do dog owners think happens to the dog poo they take the trouble to pick up and bag and then just leave it in hedges - or worse, throw up into trees?
The dog poo fairy takes them away. Well known fact in dog owning circles.
We're going away for a few days tomorrow. Slightly apprehensive but it'll be good for us to break out of the routine, I suppose. I had to do the trip for work, so we decided to extend it before and after and stay in some nice places and treat ourselves a little. It's a part of the country neither of us has ever visited before.
It was quite fun litter picking in the village this morning. Not much litter but I met some new people and we had coffee and bacon rolls on the green afterwards.
Pleased with my haircut, Marie always makes a good job of it.

Evening all, that always reminds me of Dixon of Dock Green - anybody old enough to remember that? I've had a lovely day in the garden just pottering and starting the first of many leaf clearing jobs, the big Norwegian Maple near the back garden is colouring up well so the leaves look really nice floating down to the ground. OH had been out all day again seeing old car club friends.
He had a really exemplary letter from our local hospital which he attended recently for all day tests in one of their clinics. Recounted why he was there, who he saw, what tests he had had, the results, the recommendations and what he should do and who to contact if he needed to in the future. Brilliant! It's a gold standard which should be standard practice but often isn't.
Oh lord DD, my grandson is the same age as your Charlie, he's just smartened up as well as he's got girls in the same class for the first time!
Happy Birthday @Fairygirl and congratulations on your anniversary @chicky, glad the dentist was able to fix your tooth so quickly.
Enjoy the break @raisingirl, I think you deserve a holiday, you seem to work very hard most of the time.
I remember Dixon of Dock Green @Lizzie27. I liked it. My eldest grandson is just 17 and I think there is a girl he likes, can't remember if it's at school or the riding school. He loves horses, they have a couple of rescue ponies at home but not rideable.

Sounds an idyllic afternoon @Busy-Lizzie and what a nice way to meet new people.
Have a nice break @raisingirl, missing my holiday already. Goes by so fast.
Off to make a Lemon & Ginger cake now for the cake of the day. The Sticky toffee pudding cake I made yesterday went down extremely well. Sunday is such a busy day for us I always get a bit nervous in the mornings, cake making is a good distraction.
Have a good day all. Looks like it could be a good gardening day for most in the UK.

Good morning all 😊 ☕️ late on parade this morning … still in bed!
It’s a beautiful bright morning, so I really ought to get up and showered and get on with the day … Lemon and ginger cake sounds perfect @D0rdogne_Damsel … I’ll pop in for a slice this afternoon 😉

Hi all Lovely sunny, but cold day here. We had a lovely day with my sisters yesterday, celebrating the babies 60th. Seems strange that a few years ago, we would never have met up for a family event, I must be mellowing as I get older.
