@JessicaS ..thanks, that's good.. they have some things I want..
@Songbird-2 I don't know anything about what you're using, or what Nollie thinks about this, but I prefer to use white for font colour, I find it stands out better than black.. sometimes I change the colour according to background.. edit, oh I see you're having problems changing the colour.. hope you find a way to do that.. e.g.
..oh and no need to be sorry.. we often talk other things.. and this is all very interesting..
New catalogue says early march, so I expect new releases anyday now. Bets on what this years will be? Im guessing a new climber... dark pink.... possibly named something Charles or coronationy (although I hope not!)
@WAMS I too find the naming pattern of Tantau annoying.. Lady capri and Capri, Pacific Blue are few others which are similar.. Another breeder would be Poulsen.. Although I doubt he names them that way.. rather they could be named by retailers.. TW sells the same Poulsen rose with multiple names.. probably other retailers as well..
I don’t water my potted roses at all from November onwards until April-ish .. we get decent amount of rain over winter in Liverpool (my apartment literally faces the Irish Sea) - so far none of them have died on me yet..!
@Marlorena - I use white too. Best font colour for sticking on top of photos or video that I’ve found is white with a black outline (can’t do that on the default photos app unfortunately) as that solves any issue of low contrast in certain scenes. Such as in your photo where you’ve got white writing over a white window board.
I remember at university, a particular lecturer liked to use a pale yellow font colour on a pale blue background for their PowerPoint slides. It was impossible to read!
White text for me too, unless against my sandstone walls in which case black stands out more. No problem @Songbird-2, plant labelling is a perfectly legitimate subject!
On the same topic, I did some artwork to order engraved rose labels that come with little stands a while back, but thought I should wait until the new crop of roses proved themselves or not. I weeded out a fair number last year (including two from the sample page below) so just as well I waited. Then again, there is probably never a right time and I do have a birthday coming up in a couple of months!
Mountainous Northern Catalunya, Spain. Hot summers, cold winters.
@Nollie, I'd like white lettering too but can't find the white! Is it that white crayon.? I think those tools allow for the making of the squiggley marks though.

Lovely labels @Nollie - go on, you know you want to!
Guess what folks, I made it rain overnight after watering my potted roses!
I got some rain last night too..
If you order anything from SGC, I've just put a post up on that thread, you might find it of interest..
