Sudden damask death @Nollie? I've never heard of that one - I've only got one I think though, the lovely Leda. Unless it affects Portland damasks...I'm not sure what the relationship is with those
I carried out a rose review recently and my three gallicas, Tuscany, The Bishop and officinalis all seem to have been happy with the weather this year. I cut back Tuscany after flowering to maintain its size but it has put on more than I chopped off. Looking forward to my three new bare root gallicas, Jenny Duval, Duchesse d'Angouleme and Hippolyte.
Welcome to the thread @Alfie_ Your Chandos B and Lion's Rose are both stunning and beautifully grown. I didn't know LR was also Champagne Moment...
Surprised that people are receiving bare roots already glad I haven't. I'm not going to get much gardening done until mid November now. If any of mine turn up I'm tipping them all in a big pot with a bag of compost until I have time.
Not sure if it helps anyone so late to post but I am just north of Durham if anyone needs an emergency rose collection. Not sure how it would work out to connect to owner but offer is there if needs be
A sprig of Little Rambler (tiny flowers) with persicaria Firedance
One of my new favourites, Perfume Dreams, I bought potted this year from Jones the Rose. I think this will look great when it is a grown up rose.

@Alfie_ I don’t have many photos of Golden Beauty, this is all I can find, but if you are after a yellow rose Julia Child (‘Absolutely Fabulous’) is by far the superior of the two, an astonishingly prolific bloomer and a rather more elegant bloom shape. It depends what you are looking for in a rose though. It’s very rare to get that holy grail of roses - great health, bush beauty, heat-proof, rain resistant, generous of bloom and fabulous fragrance - there’s always a compromise or two somewhere!

Mountainous Northern Catalunya, Spain. Hot summers, cold winters.
Well as I think we have discussed before, it’s all about the bottom line with DA these days. But that atrocious communication is inexcusable!
I kind of get LEH going because it’s not the healthiest of roses and does go horrible in heat (spotty and stripy) so it’s not future-proofed in terms of the UK’s coming climate, i.e. mine! But there is no fragrance like it and when it’s good it’s superb.
OTOH, in my warm climate, Munstead Wood has good health, fragrance and floriferous-ness, plus it’s heat and rain resistant. The downsides are drooping blooms (improves with age and not as bad as some), the fact that it’s a water hog and poor architecture i.e. awkward, splayed habit. I have it planted in a trio and that disguises it’s awkwardness. Fed and watered well, it’s one of the best performing Austins in my garden.
@Victoria Sponge re Damask Death, I was referring to the fact that they are generally said to resent pruning and pruned too hard they can just die. It was Rose de Rescht I chopped and I am hoping that, as a repeat-blooming Damask, it may be able to take it better than the once-bloomers.
ETA - this is a 2yr old MW cutting, looking pretty healthy for the end of October. It was a puny pruning cutting so I’m sure with better initial material it would be stronger:

They keep changing the copy on the archive pages, I suppose because they are receiving a lot more backlash than expected.
When MW was archived, we got this:
Now it's much waftier and more conciliatory.
The earlier one at least had the merit of sincerity, I thought.
