    Afternoon all,

Thanks for good wishes @AuntyRach, hope the sore arm gets better soon. It only lasted 2 days with me and didn't keep me awake thankfully.

That's an awful lot of cakes @D0rdogne_Damsel!

That was rather a shock about Hilary Mantel. I've got all 3 of her Wolf Hall trilogy books, loved the first one and got the BBC's series on video which we've watched several times.

Glad you got home ok @Busy-Lizzie and enjoyed your walk. Your garden looks brilliant despite your absence.

I had to go into town today to pick up various things. Rather shocked to be charged £32 for two watch batteries though. Couldn't find a small alarm clock anywhere so will have to go online. Bath now seems that every other shop is a food or coffee shop, horrible cooking smells everywhere. They had some kind of food festival on in two streets but that's not my kind of thing so ignored it. Trying to get home on the bus took me nearly an hour, the centre was totally gridlocked and it's only just over two miles!

  • Good evening everyone,  I nearly forgot it's officially Autumn from today as it's the Equinox.
Well most of the rain missed us so only one waterbut refilled. Its looking as though I will have to water the grass as the Autumn feed i applied yesterday's evening has not dissolved in.

    Evening.

I was just reading about the Autumn Equinox @Allotment Boy. The astronomical calendar defines Autumn as the equinox to the shortest day (21st Dec), whereas meteorological calendar is just simply September, October, November.

Still aching all over tonight. Tablets due in half an hour so perhaps I’ll feel better for a few hours. I didn’t mind after the first two jabs, as I felt it was ‘worthwhile’ and marvelled at my wonderful immune system protecting me.  Now, I am just annoyed about the whole thing.

My garden and I live in South Wales.

I got my last watch battery changed at Timpsons, with a lifetime guarantee, so it gets a free battery change whenever it runs down. I wasn’t sure at the time, but it proved to be a bargain.

Equinox - equal hours of daylight and night time.  It is the same in the southern hemisphere.  Solstice.
A good hoeing is worth two waterings.

@Ergates, they offered me the lifetime guarantee too, but I turned it down!

  • Good morning all … 😊 ☕️

  • Morning,

Oh dear @Hostafan1, not ideal sunbathing weather. :(

A day with Charlie today and a visit to a brand new (well ancient but fully restored) lakeside restaurant this evening, looks very swanky and only 5 minutes from home.

Charlie needs clothes apparently, too many of his jeans look the same, people think he only has one pair.... never, ever, before has he ever taken any notice of his clothes other than fitting him, lots of texting going on.... and "Amelie says" this.... "Amelie says" that..... ???? :)

Hoping to get some bulbs planted too today, but although they have all been delivered in a nice sturdy box they are just labelled with a sticker of the name, no picture, I bought them with a plan in my head based on the pictures of colours and styles, I think an hour back at the catalogue is required to draw up a proper plan. Happy to do it but time consuming when I haven't got a lot of time.

Builder starts on the upstairs B&B room whilst I am away, he's going to turn it into another Tearoom, a mirror image of the other room, exciting, but again a demand on my limited time to get wallpaper and flooring ordered before I go off. Hard work going on holiday.  :open_mouth:

    Good day to all. :)
