Sounds as though you are a bit bored @Hostafan1, but I hope you are enjoying your holiday.

I've spent quite a bit of the day gardening.

Washing machine tripped the fuse box and I think the drum has detached so now I must buy a new one. It is about 13 years old, maybe more, so it's done quite well. The local washing machine shop is shut on Mondays. Online can't deliver before I leave for Norfolk on Monday.

That's a bit of a bummer @Hostafan1, is there scope for cutting short your holiday it you're cheesed off or is the forecast for sun tomorrow?

DIL cooked a smashing fish pie tonight followed by fresh fruit and yoghurt, although I had icecream with my fruit. Does anybody know if I can safely freeze the cooked leftovers? I had defrosted the mixed fish pieces and tiny prawns beforehand.

I know nothing about cooking, but if I'd defrosted raw ingredients, then cooked, I'd freeze leftovers

  • Yes @Lizzie27 … it’ll be fine to freeze it as long as it’s been chilled fairly quickly and not left hanging around at room temperature for a few hours.

Thanks folks. It's only one small portion so I think I might just bin it and be on the safe side.

Hope you all have a good night's sleep. 'Talk' to you tomorrow.

Up to you @Lizzie27 😊  but as I said, if it’s not been hanging around at room temp it’ll be fine. I used to have a catering business and have done various food safety and food health & hygiene courses. 👍

  • Good morning all 😊 ☕️
Packing day has dawned … everything else has been done … next door are primed and prepped to keep an eye on the place and feed the hedgehogs … so we will pack … make some ham and cheese rolls for the journey … load the car … and then get an early night …
Hope @Liriodendron has a good journey to UK today 😊

    Hi all
Slowly returning to the land of the living, although rather too slowly for my liking.
    Hope all are well.
