I hope you feel better soon @didyw.

As well as the SM I went to the lovely Aladdin's cave shop in a nearby village where I bought my dishwasher. It starts off like a village shop with groceries and fruit and veg then goes back to cleaning stuff, paints and DIY then tools, electrical stuff, garden, home equipment, washing machines, fridges, ovens etc.

I think I mentioned that my washing machine broke down yesterday. Drum has detached. I looked at their washing machines. There was a Samsung that seemed a good value price. I asked the sales lady about it, she said she had the same model and she loved it and they could deliver it tomorrow morning if I would like it. So I bought it. At home I looked it up, has very good reviews.

I went to the little GC near the SM. Last year they didn't have bulbs in until well into October and then a very poor choice. Now they have lots. I bought a 4kg bag of mixed daffodils for 20€ and 3 bags of 10 bulbs of mixed mini daffodils which I'll plant along the donkey paddock fence.

My blood test results arrived online. Cholesterol is too high and so is Gamma GT which is to do with the liver. I hope it isn't anything to worry about. I know I've had a gallstone for years, found on an echogram, but the Doc said as I had no symptoms they wouldn't do anything. I don't drink enough alcohol to damage the liver. I really like whole milk in my coffee and cream on my raspberries.

Morning everyone. We’ve got rain!  At last.

The veranda is almost finished, and we were expecting the builder to finish off today but he hasn’t arrived. Maybe the weather put him off. 😁.

Morning all, and hello Punkdoc, had been worrying about you,and Dove said you hadn't been well. Don't often post on here, usually a quick scan, anything I can help with on other posts, there's nearly always a "curmudgeon" to be had. 6.5c, here this morning, and a nippy wind, but it's 17.1c indoors.  No heating on here, had to put the emersion on, for showers, when the bloke put in the smart meter,he was surprised we wanted to keep the economy 7.I did get my slippers out in the week.... laminate flooring! I had to get the heated airer out yesterday, first time. Did 2 wash loads and it rained! Have a good day everyone..

Nippy here in Lux. No heating on yet, I am determined to wait to the end of October if I can. Got a hospital appointment, feeling a bit worried at the prospect of potentially bad news.
Hugs to all of you with worries about health either for yourselves or your loved ones.
    Have a lovely day everyone.

    Morning all.

I hope you have a good journey @Dovefromabove. Let us know that you've arrived safely.

I lit the stove last night and the kitchen breakfast room is still 21°. I haven't lit it this morning.

Good luck at the hospital @coccinella.

New washing machine should be coming this morning.

  • Morning all,  we gave in and have had a bit of heat, mostly because of the damp feeling, but it's still on minimum and only early morning and eve, rarely have it on all day even in the coldest weather.
I  am considering putting the protection round the Lemons tho, they don't like single figure night time  temperatures, without protection, from wind and rain.
A speedy recovery to all the poorly people.

Will be good to have your new washing machine in and working, BusyLizzie. I have a Samsung, bought last year, and am really pleased with it. I’ve been using a one hour mixed wash programme which seems very effective and of course, very quick. And it plays a tune when it’s finished!
Hope all goes well at the hospital, and they can put your mind at rest, coccinella.
Glad to see you well enough to feel like posting, Punkdoc.
Im feeling almost normal today, no more loafing around for me. Will ease myself in with a walk this morning, but hoping I will have the energy to tackle the laurel hedge this afternoon.

Good morning to all you esqimoes!!

Autumn day today:  Sunny, then cloudy, then rainy, then sunny and lots of wind.  A high of 21°C this arvo.

Having a conservatory that leads onto the lounge, I can put off turning the boiler on until late November - that's if we get sunny days, but November can be capricious!!  I have an open fire.

With a glut of the hot and mild peppers, made a nice piperade last night and as a final "coup de grace" made a well in the middle and cracked a couple of eggs in there to poach.  Crusty french bread and a glass of rouge made the day!!

Bon voyage and happy holidays for the Doves.  I imagine it is freezing up there @coccinella - do you get sun in your house?  Good luck for your hospital visit, please let us know how you get on.

    Enjoy your day.
