Fantastic news @punkdoc!  What a relief!  Have a great weekend!
Lovely pics @Pat E, how heartening to see those flowers - and so prolific.
Still no rain here, nor any signs of it.  The bit of rain in this area a week or so ago missed us completely.
Gave the essential parts of the garden a good watering yesterday - the apple trees that were so laden a while ago have shed lots of their apples to conserve water, so they have both had a good drink.  It feels like cheating, but I tape the handle of the hose down, train it at the base of the trees and leave it while I have a cup of tea, answer an email...
    Luckily no water ban here.
The butt is still full as I am reserving that water to refill the pond (now dried out) when we sort that out with a new liner.  We'll work on that in a couple of weeks.

    Morning all.

Couldn't stop reading my book this morning so got up late. Been doing some admin, paid French Council Tax. Must go and hang up the washing before it's too late.

Hi Didy. Yes I was very pleased to see the flowers are still in the area. I really like discovering native flora when we move around our back area.

Floralies, I’ve just read back and saw your question about the veranda getting hot. Sorry I missed you question a couple of days ago.  I’m not sure yet, but the large windows do slide open, so it should be ok. Besides, the sun moves around to the north fairly quickly, so fingers crossed.

No worries Pat, a good through breeze should do the job!

Wonderful news, Punkdoc and Moira! What a huge relief.
No rain here yesterday, the storm didn’t make it the 10 miles east of Exeter. The slightest drizzle this morning for an hour, but as dry as ever.

According to our forecast, we should have had rain most of the day, but not a drop has fallen.

No rain here either, looks grey and promising but not doing much. Got the washing dry though so that's a bonus.

I picked all our apples just before lunch in case we get heavy rain sometime soon. Not as big a harvest but good enough, means I don't have to spend hours peeling apples, cooking and freezing them as I usually do.

Went to our local Gardening Club annual Flower Show this afternoon - the first since lockdown. Lots of lovely entries although not as many as in previous years, think the weather is largely to blame. Scrumptious cake and tea! I took a slice of Lemon Drizzle cake home to OH who doesn't feel so good today. He's now having a snooze but without a doubt will wake up soon to watch the F1 practice!
