I've just been to Waitrose and told them I'm coming back to work next month
    Devon.
  • Bless you @Hostafan1 ... I'm sure they're really pleased to welcome you back, ... it's been a long tough journey for you ... it'll be good to feel part of the team again, and to get out and about a bit.  The income will probably be good too  ;)

Thanks @Dovefromabove, the weirdest thing will be that I barely know about 50% of the staff.
There are now 44 drivers, about 3 times as many as there were when I last worked.
The Branch Manager took over after I stopped, and he leaves on Friday.
    Devon.
  • It's been a while hasn't it?  ((hugs))

by the time I  get back, it'll be 15 months, but they've been VERY good, supportive and understanding. I'm sure very few employers would have matched them
    Devon.
  • Just as it should be ... but I know what you mean ... some employers, with the best will in the world, just don't get it right and folk feel pressured if they take the time they need.

Afternoon all,   I didn't like to ask if you were going to go back to Waitrose @Hostafan1 as really it's none of my business but that's good news and more drivers means less pressure on you?

We've had rain at last and heavy at that. Late last night, together with two big claps of thunder just as I was going to bed. I think we had more early morning and although my usual walk at 9 ish was sunny and dry, it's been raining steadily since I got home. More heavy rain and thunder/lightening forecast from 5pm tonight.  Washing's had to go in the dryer but that's fine as mostly towels so they'll be soft and fluffy - I do hate stiff, rough towels.

Wise decision @Dovefromabove, the molar may be good for a long time yet. I need new front crowns but at £650 each, they'll have to wait for the time being.

  • When we go to the dentist we park in the John Lewis car park which is just up the hill from there, and usually pick up something we need from the store to reduce the cost of parking ... so I got myself a new pillow ... hopefully it'll be comfy ... the current ones are a little less plump than they used to be so that may have been the reason I just could't get 'quite right' last night ... fingers crossed this will be 'just right'.  So £2 for a morning's city centre parking seems good.

I like fluffy towels to wrap myself in, but prefer a rougher one to towel down with.  Funny how we're all different isn't it?  Makes you realise what a tough job it is being a hotelier 🤣

Well done @Hostafan1, a good sign that you feel able to go back to work.
How can you lie there and think of England
