    Hello all.

I went for a walk before dinner last night. Black clouds were gathering, but I'm not sure whether we had rain in the night.

OH has had the Laptop all morning so I did gardening instead. The Solanum is now a shadow of its former self so now there is a load of bare earth around the bottom of it. There are some spring flowering plants like Dicentra, bluebells and Lily of the valley in that part of the bed, but they are all dormant. I feel a trip to a GC coming on, planning on planting bedding cyclamen to brighten it up.

Oh how awful @D0rdogne_Damsel!  No wonder we haven't heard from you for a few days.  Charlie looks happy in his new accommodation - and I'm sure you are more than happy to send him whatever funds he needs!  And enjoy your holiday in Corfu!

Congratulations on getting your job back @Hostafan1 - and if anyone deserves a holiday, you do.

People are going to need Citizens Advice now more than ever, so hats off to you @chicky for doing the training.

A bit of rain overnight the last two nights but nothing substantial.  I don't know what it is about our little part of the world but the rain just swerves us and heads for Norwich.

I am feeling both pleased and cross with myself.  We switched to BT fibre for broadband a few months ago.  I knew it was a bit more expensive than the previous package I had with AOL but that was OK.  Then I began to notice that my bills were much higher, and different amounts each month, than I thought they should be.  Turns out, I have been paying for all the calls we make on the landline.  So cross with myself for not realising that but now pleased because I've managed to add on unlimited calls at an additional monthly cost.  And that cost is a lot lower than I have been paying for calls.

That's as nothing when you have a power cut as we had this morning.  Without the ability to make calls (my mobile relies on my internet too!), or access the internet I am completely floored - with all the things I'm currently involved with it is absolutely vital!

Afternoon all, sunshine and showers here and what looked like substantial rain overnight which I must have slept through. Got caught in a brief shower coming back from my daily walk, only just managed to put the brolly up.

That's a nuisance @WonkyWomble and as your mum says a pain waiting in for workmen to arrive. We're waiting for the window/gutter cleaner to phone but guess he's waiting for the weather to clear up first.

We're both a bit down lately, having battles with local pharmacy (which has just changed hands) plus OH's GP/Clinic to get the meds OH needs. Seems there's a national shortage of hormone meds for both sexes. I'll try again in half an hour. The new pharmacy has stopped doing text alerts and keeping repeat prescriptions, we now have to arrange those direct with our surgery each month.

Thing to remember @chicky is that you will know more than your clients do! You'll be fine once the first session is over.

Hello all, we are still awaiting the arrival of some rain, it's really desperate down here, maybe next week if it doesn't pass us by.
Love Corfu @D0rdogne_Damsel, a well earned break for you, and a deserved holiday for you @Hostafan1.
@steephill do you think the bird has ticks? I found one once in the garden covered in them and they were big after gorging on the poor bird.
Internet is dropping in and out here also, they can't seem to find a solution.
  • We had a bit more overnight @didyw … but not a lot … then, just now the sky turned dark and there were big rolls of thunder to the northeast .., and three drops of rain … 💦 🙄

  • Hello all and thanks for the support. I'm home from work... The manager from British gas that said her would phone yesterday still hasn't so I called them and made a complaint about my complaint. Apparently a manager is calling me back.

Meanwhile an engineer is coming to look at the metre between 1 and 3 tomorrow.... I'll believe that when I see it too! The electrician arrived 2 and a half hours later than the latest time he said he would be here and replaced the front of the plug socket only bit did tighten lose cables on the metre.

The landlord who promised he would take the 12 rubble sacks that were blocking my path for the past 2 months 2 days ago will be coming sometime this week......I also doubt that on past performance.

I feel I need a theme tune like the archers or something.... Tune in for the next time on....Wonkys woes.... What happened to our recap @AnnaB..... Previously on forkers! 🤣

Sending best wishes to all and hugs to those that need or fancy one 😀

It all sounds dreadfully frustrating @WonkyWomble, good luck!

Today I cleared an area under the Solanum which I have cut back quite a bit so we went to the GC and bought 10 cyclamen, 18 violas, 10 Minnow daffodil bulbs and 2 sacks of compost. In France you can't buy daffodil bulbs until October, here there were loads of them in August.

Reminds me of the 'flu jab, can't have that before October in France either.

  • I fancy a hug @WonkyWomble … but only a very gentle one … innards are a tad explosive still.

OH says this is the right theme tune for Wonky’s Woes … it’s his favourite 😉

I'll have one too please, @WonkyWomble. I don't need one, but I'd just rather like one.

Bulb planting day sounds lovely @Busy-Lizzie... Must get round to that myself soon!

Picked up a pair of Cotswold studio stone window planters recently from Freecycle... What a find!!!! Plus they were being donated by my old best friend from when I was 7.... We had lost touch, what are the I odds?! Needless to say we have already spent one lovely day together 😀 nice to have some positive news!!

And on that subject........ Drum roll please......a manager from British gas called me while I was in Lidl carpark...... Obviously I stopped everything and finally after 7 years he is going to investigate our case back to 2015 and get back to me this time tomorrow.....

So my last point.... Obviously we need a theme tune in place for tomorrow's exciting installment..... Not sure about that choice @Dovefromabove.... Needs to be original... 🤔 Gentle squeeze for iffy tums coming right up!! 🤗
Have a lovely evening folks 😀
