Morning folks.RIP Elizabeth. My goodness that was quick! Meeting the old and new PM, gone 2 days later. Another online site speculated she had already died, seem to have been correct. My youngest daughter sent me a screenshot from wherever she gets news online,it said "Mirror accidentally announced death of Queen 2hours before she died,"so when I told her,she thought I was incorrect. She seemed to have aged overnight after loosing Phillip. What a strange week, new PM and a King.

Hi again everybody. Lovely seeing all the old photos and hearing what various people said. Brings back memories.  Even hearing, would you believe, Vera Lyn sing the usual. 🙄🙄

  • Good morning all 😊 ☕️
It seems strange to wake up and remember what happened yesterday … it does seem like the end of an era … my parents’ generation finally ending … Ma looked a bit like HM and was once mistaken for her … (back when @WonkyWomble was small) … apparently rumours went around that the Queen was seen walking a corgi along Southwold sea front one blustery day … a local news reporter was sent out to investigate … heads were scratched, and then the lady at the tea hut remembered having her usual chat with Ma, in her sensible raincoat and headscarf, accompanied by her corgi Taffy … 2 and 2 were put together and the answer was 4 and HM was confirmed to have not set foot off Sandringham for several days.

OMG Huw Edwards is reading ‘a lengthy statement’ from Boris … verbose isn’t even anywhere near it …
can’t someone shut that man up?!
I thought it was a heartfelt and well thought out statement from Boris for a change.

I agree @Busy-Lizzie.  I didn’t think I would be this upset - and his words sum up why.  Love him or hate him, he has a way with words.
  • We'll have to agree to disagree ... I found it overly sentimental and inappropriate ... and on top of that poorly constructed .... not what I'd expect from a journalist let alone a senior politician .. a bit 'stream of consciousness' ... not for me I'm afraid.

    Morning all.
No TV for me over the last 24 hours.
I can't do with all the gush.
I am as upset that she has died as she would have been had I died. i.e. Zero.

I've just been to Waitrose and had a lovely chat with my colleague who worked as Royal Household Police for 23 years. He was wearing his Royal Victoria Medal of Honour for services to the royal family.

I'm heading to The Home to collect the last of Hubby's things.
I might have a walk round Rosemoor on the way back.
