Morning everyone - it's coming up 5am so officially morning not night! Daughter, g/son and the dogs arrived back here a couple of hours ago - they always travel at night as less traffic and the dogs all sleep for the journey - so we had a cuppa and a catch up. Both of us are off to bed now so could I ask you all to please chatter quietly for a couple of hours later on. Thanks, most grateful. Hi @Pat E the veranda is looking really good.
Yes, the verandah is still coming along nicely, thanks everyone. It’ll be really comfy when it’s finished. I’ve had some laughs at Pixel’s curiosity. She’s not been let out while the builder is here in case she gets in the way, but she spends a lot of time standing at the window to see what he’s doing. 😂😂 I think we are in for rain, so I hope he can get more done while he can.
Another electrical storm this morning at 4.30am so have been awake listening to it. We could have had a cuppa together @AnnaB We've had lots of lovely rain and the thunder is now rumbling in the distance. Coming your way perhaps @floralies
Another month to wait @Busy-Lizzie just to see the surgeon who will probably tell you that he is trying to catch up on the operations and that you have to do the tests all over again. I do hope the interview is positive.
32°C expected again this afternoon. The sun will come out later and so will the heat. My cucumber plants are doing well (sown on the 10th July) lots of flowers - but not one fruit! I have seen the bees working these so maybe all flowers are male. The birds have successfully demolished my lettuces, so they were netted - the snails and slugs have visited too and I noticed last night that my spinach germinations have been nibbled.
Good morning all 😊 ☕️ Its a lovely morning … I went out about 6:45 to put the old kettle out next to the bin for recycling, and could hear a buzzard calling from high overhead.
Thinking of all our friends with anxieties about loved ones. 🤗
OH is working again today … I’ll be visiting the farm shop and butcher … then I’d better have a look at the tomatoes and courgettes … I think the latter are nearly over now … they’ve been fruiting all summer but there’s not many now.

Morning all, fingers crossed @Busy-Lizzie for OH, surely it will happen this time. No rain or thunder here @tui34 just looked on the radar and there's nothing! They have been combining the sunflowers in the fields all around us, if only I could have snaffled some for the birds in the winter, I think the price for the hearts will be prohibitive this year. Your veranda is looking very good Pat, will it get very hot in the summer? Not sure if anyone has asked you this already. I had a skin prick test yesterday for my Rhinitis, but nothing showed up, so we conclude that it is non allergic rhinitis. More tomato soup and sauces to make this weekend, we will have to buy another freezer soon. Catch up with you all later.
Morning everyone, we had a couple of good showers last evening and night, proper rain but didn't last long but better than nothing. I really hope your OH finally gets his operation @Busy-Lizzie.
Morning everyone. Rain here overnight , not sure how long it lasted ( slept through it) but everything looks more damp than yesterday evening. Have a good day @Busy-Lizzie , and fingers crossed the hospital appointments all come through finally for your OH.

We are going to Bressingham Gardens. I haven't been since before Covid and it's not far from here. OH will take his buggy.
