    Morning all.

I expect the rain will fizzle out before it gets to East Anglia  :/

    Lovely fruit and veg @chicky.

Planning a quiet day, knee aches after the walking yesterday, but we may go to Tesco. Last week's shop was small and we are running out of things.

  • Good morning all  :) ☕☕☕
Late on parade today ... I was kept awake for an hour by thunder and lightning, but we've had no rain at all ... you were right @Busy-Lizzie.  None left for us.  So anyway, I had a lay-in, then I had some emails that had to be dealt with, and now I'm getting ready to go to the dentist ...
Have a good day folks ...

Looks gorgeous @Yviestevie - whereabouts in Turkey are you?
That house is not to my taste either @Dovefromabove.  My ideal would be something more arts and craftsy.  I did look at some other properties on Right Move but hate what people have done to the insides of old farmhouses - the result of watching too many home improvement programmes I think.  I prefer rooms where you can shut the door rather than big open spaces.  And in this day and age - think of the heating costs!

    Impressive fruit & veg @chicky.

The rain in the west has not made it over here to the east.

My OH has a dental appointment too this morning Dove.  I have a couple of meetings - the sort I like with nice people over a cup of coffee.

We discussed the problems high energy costs are causing small businesses at our last bus. assoc. meeting.  Not only is there no cap for businesses, so their bills are skyrocketing even higher than ours, our own bills mean we have less disposable income to spend with those businesses.  We agreed to wait until we see what Ms.Truss has to offer but will write to our MP about it if no real help forthcoming.  Our secretary was interviewed by the local paper: https://www.becclesandbungayjournal.co.uk/news/business/bungay-pub-energy-fears-business-rising-costs-9243500

Well we got our rain - as promised late afternoon and all night, together with some very strong winds. Got soaked rushing out to grab a couple of garden chairs (the plastic sort) that were having fun zooming round the garden. Then got soaked a second time standing outside with the dogs for their late night pee session, they insisted that it was against canine rules for them to be expected to go out in THAT weather if I was allowed to remain in the dry. They have a point I suppose. More rain forecast later today and for most of this week it seems, brilliant for the parched land, but I would be happy to share it with those of you that need it.
Not the house for me either Dove, I can make do with any dwelling providing it has LOADS of land around it.    :)

Amazing, @punkdoc. Makes us and our world incredibly small.

  • Back from the dentist ... he seems to think that a crowned molar is past repair and is surprised it's not giving me pain ... he could try to repair it but it would require a lot of root work and even then he thinks he'd been unable to secure a new crown and would have to extract it. We've made the decision to leave it until it's giving me pain and then he'll take it out. I'll have a gap ... Hey ho ...

OH came into the city with me and got some bits and bobs he needed, and after the dentist we met up for coffee at the Two Magpies bakery/deli ... very good coffee indeed ... and it was lovely sitting out in a light breeze, people watching on Orford Hill.
