@D0rdogne_Damsel ... it's about half an hour's walk from the station, but only five  minutes from the city centre where  I'm sure you'll be ... walk along Bridge Street  then over the bridge into Magdalen Street which then morphs into Castle Street and Kettles Yard is on your left.  The house itself (with some  important artworks from the early 20C) is one of the most calming and relaxing places I know ... and I've learned such a lot about how to furnish a house in the way that I love from just being there and sitting a while ... and then there's the gallery next door ... very prestigious.  Not sure what's on at the moment ... ah ... it's this, which might not be 'your thing' for a brief visit ...
https://www.kettlesyard.co.uk/events/howardena-pindell-a-new-language/  in which case I suggest just visiting the House  (IMHO usually the best bit)... you may need to book a slot ... we've never had to but we tend not to go during the summer vac ....  https://www.kettlesyard.co.uk/tickets/

Afternoon everyone.  Slept in this morning after being awake most of the night - rather than fretting I decided to just accept it and get stuck into my book.  Probably read longer than I needed to but it's a real page turner - The Whistleblower by Robert Peston.  I'm a fan of his anyway and love this book.  Might recommend it to my reading group.
Grey and overcast here.  And it was quite chilly last night - had to put a jumper on.
Looking forward to seeing a pic of you with your new haircut @D0rdogne_Damsel.  Hope Charlie recovers soon - quite traumatic having all your wisdom teeth out in one go.  Enjoy your trip to Cambridge - a lovely city. (Note to self - visit Kettles Yard next time! - thanks @Dovefromabove!).
Lovely post about the turning of the seasons @hostafan1.

Afternoon all, love the hairdo @D0rdogne_Damsel but agree with the shorter fringe. Hope you will like the end result. Unfortunately for me, I haven't got the right kind of hair for that style and most of the time I look like a hedgehog despite liberal applications of argan oil! Sympathies to Charlie, hope he'll feel ok soon.

We had to get up early (for us) this morning as the men doing the gutter-cleaning and window washing started at 8.40 am. They also cleaned the solar panels again and the soffits/fascias so a very thorough clean all round. Looks sparkly white now so I'm very pleased. I did end up having to get the hosepipe out and wash down all the paving however after they'd gone. The amount of muck/moss coming off the roof and gutters was tremendous. One downpipe was completely blocked.

Meanwhile we watched the formal Accession Proclamations on TV, a very interesting, if archaic, occasion. I thought Penny Mordaunt acquitted herself very well seeing that she was only two days into the job and it must have been so very daunting. So far I'm impressed with our new Prime Minister as well.

Hi everyone, haven't been on here for a very long time. Been on other forums.

@Hostafan1 sorry to hear about your husband, i haven't read back to see when but all the best for the future. As everyone has said, gardening is a healing hobby in times like these and it's always helped me on occasions.
