Morning everyone, wow you were chatty over the WE. More cooking for OH as GD went back to university yesterday. Her mum did some cooking too, so she now has 2 shelves of the freezer packed with dinners. (Unlike her younger sister she is not a cook). Even more toms picked and started to pick the pears, they are rock hard at the moment but hopefully they will ripen. I actually cut the grass yesterday, bizarrely the small patch on the N facing front produced more clippings than the much larger S facing back, go figure 😅
SM today and we'll go to buy another plant pot at the GC as they are half price at the moment. I used the one I bought last week to re-pot the mint. I put parsley in the mint's old pot. The chives are in 2 ordinary plastic pots and would be better in a bigger new pot.
I hope everyone has a nice day.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
I love the light on the land in your pic @Pat E - and your glorious pics too @D0rdogne_Damsel. What's Swiss Ball @tui34? Is it some kind of workout? I think I can guess the outcome of the Wisley study @chicky! We used to love going there when we lived in Twickenham. And we went to Leonardslee once - that was quite something when all the camellias and rhodos were out. Our tomatoes are ripening by the day - I have two plants of Sweet Aperitif - tiny little tomatoes that you can just pluck off and pop in your mouth! They are lovely. The others are not quite so prolific but I have a few Rio Grande that are looking good. Haven't tried one yet - but will report back after lunch! Sowing them later and having them in open-ended pots stuck into last year's growbags on a S. facing wall and all this sunshine has meant that they have all done well. Will be cooking up some passata soon.
I've just had one of those helpful gentlemen on the phone ... this one was called Alex ... he asked if I was well today? ... I said No. He asked what is wrong? I said 'I have a virus' ... he explained that is why he had called me. The problem is I have caught a virus from my Internet Router ... isn't science amazing, I said ... how can you tell? ... apparently he has clever technicians and they can tell that I have a virus and he will tell me what to do to cure it. He asked me how many devices were connected to my wi-fi at that moment? 'What is wi-fi?' I asked .... there was a pause and the line went dead .......... 🤣

Swiss Ball or Postural Ball @didyw is a large ball (mine is 65cm) and one does a posture on it - something like yoga. It is meant to strengthen core muscles and improve your balance. There's no puffing workout as such and getting up a sweat. Relaxing in between each posture. The ladies in my class are well over 55.
Evening all, feeling a bit sad, a girl/lady that works for me, fantastic loyal member of staff, left in tears today because of a 'personal issue'. I thought her family were rock solid, really, really the nicest/happiest family I know, her parting words were I am all alone now....I just have to deal with it, stunned is the best way to describe it, and goodness knows how they are all feeling.
