Special hugs to you @Hostafan1, new scenery will hopefully lighten the mood.
My waitress is ok now, but won't say what has happened, doesn't want to talk about it, just says she's dealing with 'it' whatever that might be. Obviously, we don't want to pry and are just glad she feels able to come to work, and seems ok. Thanks for the kind thoughts.
Our new autumn menu goes live tomorrow, with a new section called 'Le Globetrotter ' we're doing some dishes from around the world, all very exciting. A lot of work doing the changeover though.
Right, must go, have Seafood Gumbo to make...
Have a good day all. 😁

Morning all. Hubby has just been picked up by the Community driver for a follow-up visit to the Eye Dr. It’s not yet 6am, so I’m still half asleep. Hopefully this will be the last visit. It’s very stressful for him to need to keep going to Canberra.
Hubby is out and the specialist is happy with his eye 👏👏 I thought of Hosta having that long trip every day to visit his Hubby. Not sure how he did it. Hopefully he can settle into a new regime now.
Woke at 5.30am after getting back to sleep some time around 3. I had a prescription to have a blood test (general check-up) so got up and had it done! It's been sitting around for a while. So that's that small thing said the actress to the bishop! Haven't had one since before Covid. It had to be done on an empty stomach.
Beautiful sunny morning, quite still and 19°C - very pleasant.
@Pat E I'm glad that your hubby is coming through the cataract operations successfully. The grieving process can be long @Hostafan1 let it ride. Enjoy your holiday in the sun.
A bit more tidying weeds as the ground is nice and damp - then off to the tip.
Un beau Saint Valérien, amène abondance de biens. So hopefully my seeds and seedlings will flourish!
Good morning all 😊 ☕️ Glad your hubby has had them both done now and is back home with you @Pat E … if he’s anything like folk I know the improvement in his vision will be absolutely wonderful. 👍 Love your saint’s day sayings @tui34 … a little test for my ‘O’ level French … but I usually manage it.
Feeling a bit headachey and have a sore arm this morning because of my booster jab yesterday … I’ve not got much to do today … a pot of squash soup for OHs lunch flasks … a modicum of hswk … but the doc said have a quiet couple of days so that’s what I’ll do.

We have the builders back today, phase2 of the battle to eventually get a roof that doesn't leak. Old houses are lovely, but this has leaked for nearly 26 years and the heating bill will soon equal the National debt.
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team
Fix the roof while the sun shines eh @punkdoc? Hopefully that's the last Canberra trip for a while @PatE and your OH can enjoy having his sight back. No boosters for us yet @Dovefromabove. Love squash soup! I'm sure your waitress will appreciate your support @D0rdogne_damsel - and your Globetrotter member sounds interesting! Popping into town in a bit for coffee & catch up with a couple of people from the local district council who are always incredibly helpful with various projects. Then tonight our local historical society's talk - wildlife on the River Waveney, so that should be interesting. Just wish I could hear properly - trying different drops and will use the bulb thingy that came with the kit after a couple more days of drops. Local surgery not now doing ear syringing.
Morning all, enjoy your birthday lunch @Busy-Lizzie. Glad your OH's eye ops have been successful @Pat E. I felt the same as you yesterday @Dovefromabove, bit headachey and sore arm after the jab but feel ok today apart from feeling very tired - didn't sleep well in the single bed last night, too hot I think with a slightly warmer duvet on and the drumbeat from the funeral procession kept echoing in my mind. Thought it was a magnificent spectacle and very moving. The queue today is said to be 3 miles long. Hope @Hostafan1 caught his flight ok and will enjoy his holiday.
Our DIL cooked a lovely dinner last night, baked thick cod fillets with chorizo and peppers, courgettes in a tomato sauce and cheese topping. Rather different from what I usually cook. We hadn't seen her since end of July so it was good to catch up with family news. We are so lucky to have such a nice DIL.
The doctor who jabbed me said that it was likely I'd feel unusually tired for a couple of days @Lizzie27 ... and he's right. I've got some squash and tomato soup chuntering on the hob, and it's exhausted me 🥱

@Dovefromabove I've sent you a message. Looking forward to Saturday.
OH is taking me out to lunch today, a French restaurant, lovely food. It's for my birthday tomorrow but they were booked up tomorrow.
