  • I've done the hotel/restaurant thing on my own a few times ... travelling for work and sometimes holidaying on my own.  Have a good book to read with you ... that way if you don't want to engage in conversation with someone you can appear to be engrossed ... but if you'd like to chat, you can close the book 👍

  • Morning everyone,  definitely an autumnal chill in the air this morning.  Happy birthday @Busy-Lizzie .
Out window cleaner wants to come today so I have been moving pots,  he always says there's no need but we don't like to take chances. Still haven't lifted those late spuds yet, a cooler day might be ideal once the windows are done.  I am scratching around for sacks to put spuds in as the mice have made a mess of some of the old ones, I looked at some in a GC yesterday and they were tiny and expensive ☹

I looked at the forecast this morning, BBC said sunny periods, 15C, so I put the towels in the washing machine at 8am. I put them on the quick cottons wash, machine said it would take 1hr25, it took nearly 3 hours. When I finally put the towels on the line at 11am it was sunny. Been raining since midday. We've just been to Diss, it hailed then tipped with rain. Car said 10C.  I think @Hostafan1 is in the right place.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Happy holiday @Hostafan1 - hope you are managing to keep warm!  You'll soon settle in to it.  Take lots of pictures and have a poke around the shops looking for a little gift for Dove for when she visits - having a purpose will help.
That sounds like a really special pudding @Busy-Lizzie - and - Happy Birthday!
    Impressive pipework @Allotment Boy.
Sorry you had such a hassle with the homeward journey @Yviestevie
Hope you feel better soon and can enjoy Busy's visit tomorrow @Dovefromabove.
Raining on and off all day here today and - I'm a bit cold, have had to put a woolly on!

  • Nooooooooooo gift necessary ... a comfy bed in a gorgous home and a beautiful garden ... who could want for more  <3

I'm much better thanks @didyw ... innards much more settled and just a bit of 'post jab' tiredness ... I'm sure I'll be absolutely fine tomorrow.  I've been to the farm shop today and we have provisions so we won't starve for the next week  :D

  • @didyw 👍 😂 … I suspect he’s using all his mental and physical resources lying on a lounger soaking up the sun … he puts a lot of effort into that sort of thing you know 🤣 😉
