Yes, have a good one, @Hostafan1, can't think of anyone who deserves a holiday more than you.
How can you lie there and think of England

    Pipe looks good @Allotment Boy!

I hope you feel better on Saturday @Dovefromabove. I got your reply message.

We've just come back from Bury Saint Edmunds, having had a delicious leisurely lunch followed by a wander around town and a visit to M&S where I bought a pair of slim flared jeans that actually fitted, some pretty knickers with lacey bits and 2 tee shirts for OH. I wear jeans all the time in winter, spring and autumn and when they get tatty they become gardening jeans.

Must tell you about my dessert. It looked like something from Great British Menu. It was a perfectly shaped rosy apple made from a thin white chocolate shell covered with a red apple flavoured glaze with apple mousse inside and a core of caramel and hazlenuts.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
  • @Busy-Lizzie  😊 The doc who gave me the jab said it’ll probably only last a couple of days … paracetamol has dealt with the headache … I’m sure I’ll be fine by Saturday  … I’m just taking things gently today and tomorrow as the doc advised.  I didn’t have any effects from my earlier jabs but this one was a different type.

    Your meal sounds lovely. 😊

Well, we're back in Blighty, we had a lovely holiday although the flights left a lot to be desired.  On the way out we had a burst tyre on landing.  On the way back due to a problem with the air con and therefore cabin pressure we had to fly lower than normal which meant we used more fuel and had to divert to Stanstead for a refuel.  All in all, it took 12 hours from the Hotel to our house.  We arrived home at 4.30 a.m. to find I have a speeding fine.  Not a great 24 hours really.
Have spent most of the day unpacking and catching up on the laundry.  Hubby has cut the lawn, but I didn't get out there.  I have read back to see what you have all been up to but can't remember much.  Hope @Hostafan1 has a good time it might be difficult on his own.
It was strange to be out of the country when the Queen died.  We were in the same place when Lady Di was killed.  I think I should alert the Palace if I ever go again.
I'm off for an early night.

Hi from Kingswinford in the West Midlands
  • Good morning all 😊 ☕️
    and Many Happy Returns to @Busy-Lizzie  🥂 🎁 🎂
Goodness me @Yviestevie … that was quite an adventure! Glad the holiday was lovely 😎
Hope @Hostafan1 is snug if a comfy hotel bed and sound asleep 💤
We’ve had more rain overnight … it’s clear and bright at the moment  but more is promised for later today.
Coffee is on its way …

Good morning and morning to you @Dovefromabove  welcome back @Yviestevie

Windy this morning with 19.7°C and sunny.  We hit 33°C yesterday afternoon.  Another warm day forecast but temperatures decreasing next week - cooler nights and days with around 25°C/26°C. which is lovely.

Bit more weeding this morning - the bindweed seems to spring up as fast as I can remove it.  Damn nuisance!
A good hoeing is worth two waterings.

Morning @tui34 … good luck with the weeding … it’s something I really checked for when we were choosing this house … I’d  had bindweed and ground elder in other gardens … this one may have other problems, but it doesn’t that those. 🤞
