Gosh reading back has been a bit of a tear jerker, and I am already a bit emotional without all this as well. Pull yourselves together.
Charlie is home for the week-end, but not before having all four wisdom teeth extracted at 8am yesterday morning. :0 He looks a bit like a hamster, says he feels ok, but has slept ever since, the best thing for him really. We're hoping he will be ok for school on Monday, we'll see.
My holiday plans are all coming together now, although I have had to buy an additional flight to the UK, which wasn't originally available. I had been forced to get a flight to Gatwick even though I am flying to Corfu from Stansted, but train and bus transfers were really long and a taxi really expensive and I managed to get a cheap flight to Stansted, so although the Gatwick ticket will be wasted it will still be cheaper, and easier to go direst to Stansted than paying for taxi/train or bus. I also arrive at 3pm in the afternoon rather than 12:50 in the morning, meeting my friends at 4pm, ready for pre-dinner drinks at 5pm - Happy Holidays.
I am stuck at Stansted for two days when I come back, I should have been meeting a friend but she is having a new hip, so instead I am going to spend a day shopping in Cambridge, and treat my self to a leisurely lunch. I might get in a visit to to Kings College Chapel. It'll be nice to have a bit of time to browse around and ease myself gently into work mode after Corfu.
Have to write up Christmas Cake order forms today, yep so soon, but not until after I have had my hair done, at least 3 months overdue - going for drastic measures today, shorter and darker.... we'll see how it goes. This is what I am aiming for.... but not quite so annoyingly over the eyes, hoping the hairdresser doesn't laugh at me.
Have a good day all.

Glad to hear that @Hostafan1 … I won’t worry about you now 👍
That looks very stylish @D0rdogne_Damsel … hope you’re happy with it … and hope the hamster is soon back to normal. A day in Cambridge us always a treat. Do you know Kettles Yard? https://www.kettlesyard.co.uk/
One of our most favourite places to be in the world (possible helped by the fact that OH has exhibited there) .., and just up the road from everywhere else … so easy.

Good morning everyone. After rain on and off all day yesterday, it's supposed to be dry today, but it's very cloudy and heavy so we'll see. We spent yesterday in the soup & sauce factory (otherwise known as the kitchen) . If you have seen the harvest thread recently you will understand. 😆
Same here @Allotment Boy ... another huge heap of Roma tomatoes to be roasted and pulverised Given that last year blight decimated my entire crop, tomato 'farming' does seem to be either Feast or Famine 🤣

A minor miracle has just happened. I've inserted my old sim card and imported contacts to phone: replaced new sim and all the contacts are there. Hurrah. Now I just need to work out how to connect to the internet with it. It's fine indoors with the house wifi, ditto Waitrose wifi, but I can't work out how to connect otherwise. Over 2 hours on "chat" with SMARTY has got me absolutely nowhere. The irony that a mobile phone network has NO option to call and speak to someone.
I hope all your flights work out and are on time @D0rdogne_Damsel. When you are in Cambridge you will be nearer me here than you are in France, unless it's when I'm popping back to France for 10 days. I like the hair and I agree about it getting in your eyes. I don't know how people put up with that would drive me nuts. Poor Charlie, I hope his mouth doesn't hurt too much.
We are going to a church tea party for charity this afternoon. They had one for the Jubilee which was a great success so they decided to have another one, but they didn't know that the Queen would die just before.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
@Hostafan1 ... have you looked in Settings to see what networks are available? ... It might be that, given you live in a very rural spot, there isn't a network available to your phone. Looks like you mght be in a 'partial not-spot' https://www.mobileuk.org/shared-rural-network

Well I'm in hairdressers and she didn't laugh, we'll see how it turns out. Such a long process, I'm not good at sitting still and I forgot my book. I may well be on every thread by the time we're finished. 😅
Thanks for the link to the museum @Dovefromabove, is it within walking distance of the train station? Enjoy your tea party @Busy-Lizzie, shame about the timing, but I'm sure there'll be a lot of talk about the queen and some happy memories shared. I'm not sure, but I think you're in France when I'm in the UK. Good luck with the Smart phone @Hostafan1, I share your pain. 😅

Morning all, the sun is out here, it should be a gorgeous morning, and we are out for breakfast and a walk. Feeling a lot cheerier today, it was all too sad yesterday, including on here, hearing how some of you are having to cope. Hopefully a bit of sunshine will boost everyone’s spirits and give us the strength we need to move forward. Take care, all. Very pleased to hear that the planned rail strikes have been postponed, I might actually get to spend a long overdue day with my sister.
