I hope they find somewhere hot enough @Hostafan1 B)

I hope the young lad recovers well @D0rdogne_Damsel, what a dreadful shock for his family. I'm glad Charlie has made friends already.

It rained a decent amount in the night, at last.

No plans for today apart from ironing and HW.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Gran Canaria 14 nights departing Bristol Sept 15th home 29th.
About 26C every day, warm enough.
    Devon.
  • Well deserved @Hostafan1, and it'll be hot enough there for you. I'm setting off on my 3 times delayed holiday to Corfu on the 29th - we might cross paths at the airport.  B)

Just completed a video interview with a potential new recruit, seems absolutely perfect, French but fluent in English, (Irish mother) happy to do anything, kitchen/front of house, lots of experience, needs a new job as leaving where she is currently living to come back to dad after breaking up with long term boyfriend. Her dad works for me one day a week and is an absolute star, so fingers crossed. She is starting on the 19th, 10 days before my holiday!

Big storm here yesterday afternoon, thunder, lightning and heavy rain, with the patio partly flooded for a while. Very funny to see one of the local pigeons sitting in the bird bath with its wings held up, presumably to wash its ‘armpits’.
Managed to get a decent walk this morning, then OH cut the grass, surprisingly it was dry enough, and swept up the pine needles off the drive. I attacked another section of the woodland, and cleared some more pathway. The green bins both have a decent load of brambles, bracken and assorted weeds. Not a bad effort, full enough to go out, and we got in for a late lunch as the rain started.
Great to have a break booked, Hostafan. Needed and deserved. Lovely picture of Charlie, Damsel, hope the new recruit works out, certainly seems to tick the boxes.
    Everyone take care.
