Afternoon all. There seems to be a bit of flu about. I was laid up with it for most of last week and only really got up for the first time yesterday. My OH had it too but he heroically managed to cook a meal for us each evening, even though neither of us had much appetite. We tested negative for covid and the symptoms were very much flu. Still feel a bit groggy but getting there... I was able to read (between moaning and groaning or snoozing) and enjoyed having the bedroom window open to these lovely autumn days. The garden looks like it has taken advantage of the rain - but I'm not up to doing anything out there yet, so admire the late bloomers from afar.
Oh bless you @didyw … and there was me thinking you were busy with meetings … you can blame @punkdoc for your flu 😷 he had it first! Flamin internet viruses 🙄 we had our flu jabs yesterday 🤞
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Sorry you have been feeling rough too, @didyw. I was in bed for a week and I have to admit I am back there now, after having been up for a few hours. Listening to K. Starmer's speech, I was almost impressed.
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team
Sorry you have had to go back to bed @punkdoc. I have been slaving over a hot laptop all day and ache all over now. Missed Starmer's speech but will try and catch up with it online. Good timing for Labour's conference as the Tory's sink the £.
Afternoon folks, hope all the poorly posters get better soon. Managed my daily walk in the dry this morning, it's funny that sometimes I bounce along feeling fine and other days I just plod. Weather related perhaps? Really childish I know but I couldn't resist picking up a couple of shiny brown conkers. Later I went for my monthly back and shoulder massage, sorely needed on my shoulders as usual.
It's been too chilly/windy/wet here for me to want to do any gardening.
I've swopped all the bedding around as DIL left this morning and replaced all my things back in the main bedroom. Looking forward to our friendly gas boiler servicer/neighbour replacing our shower tomorrow for a nice new shiny one. He told me he replaces his every two years or so because of hard water scale - ours is 15 years old!
