    Morning.

Just had a coffee with a bird song soundtrack and watching the bats still flitting about as the day breaks.

Very broken sleep due to post jab symptoms overnight. Hoping pain killers will allow me to work today, but an early finish will be arranged I think.

    Have a decent day all.

  • Morning,

    Glad you're home safe @Busy-Lizzie

Fingers crossed you get an early finish @AuntyRach and you start to feel better soon. Birdsong and bats are a lovely awakening, but a good night's sleep would have been better.

Off to batch bake today so there's a good supply of cakes whilst I'm away. Chocolate Cake, Lemon Cake, Earl Grey & Vanilla, Lemon & Ginger and Pink Lemonade cake on my list, plus a Fruit Cake.

I hope I get through them all.

  • Good morning all 😊 ☕️
14C and a bit damp here this morning.
    Glad @Busy-Lizzie got home ok
and that everyone else is ok, changes of plans, cake baking, left wallets and maturing young men not withstanding.
Glad we (or rather OH) got the tomatoes in yesterday … I have a meeting to attend later this morning, then we can concentrate on holiday preparations in earnest.

  • Good morning everyone,  cool damp start here, with reluctance we have put a bit of heating on. The kitchen is comfortable anyway because the fridge/ freezer puts out a lot of heat,  but the rest of the house feels damp when it's like this even though it isn't really.  As soon as any sun peeps through the heat will be be off again.
@AuntyRach, even with just a sore arm our sleep has been disturbed, hope you improve soon.

    Morning all.

Grey and chilly in West Dordogne. My cottage was a bit chilly last night. I lit the wood burning stove.

This morning I'm going on a 5km walk in aid of Alzheimer's with a group of friends from church. We are all getting on a bit and some have problems, backs, knees etc. There is an OH with a car at the ready to pick anyone up. We'll end up at a friend's house for a light lunch. I hope my knee is OK, it's been getting better the last couple of days. I think it's worse if I sit down too much.

I was glad to find that CB has looked after the garden, nothing has died in the drought, but the raspberries and the lilac are a bit unhappy. He's cut the hedge and strimmered the rough bits. The lawn looks very unhappy. The forecast is for rain next week.

Here is the Jewel Bed last night, needs dead heading, but not bad after 5 weeks away.

    Good morning all.

Busy morning again.  Sprayed the weeds and fiddled with the sprayer and nozzle - frustrating!!  Walked the dog......then had a coffee!!    A little repotting this morning
    I think to finish off.

@Busy-Lizzie   We are expecting rain tomorrow but it seems to be moving towards Marseille - so we miss out again!!  I hope you get lots!!  @AuntyRach  A sore arm and having to work is a pain  :s whoops - I hope it is over by Monday.  @Dovefromabove  I am still picking the odd ripe tomato and will take out the remaining plants next week after the rain - if it does - and the ground is damp. @D0rdogne_Damsel   Will that holiday ever manifest?  Happy baking!!

    Happy day to everyone.

Hello all, everyone is very busy I see! Your border looks good @Busy-Lizzie I wished mine looked even half like that! Been suffering badly with sinuses the last couple of days, the pain in my face is quite something. We have two villages that both have pharmacies, I went to the one further away this morning for some paracetamol and I was the only person wearing a mask and it's a very busy place, in the other village the pharmacy ask you to wear a mask before entering, this hasn't changed since the pandemic.
Hopefully we may get some rain tonight, I wonder....  ;)

I had a lovely walk, knee held out. I enjoyed lunch at friend's house with the other walkers and several dogs who came too. Dogs had their own lunch, not ours!
