No Thursday delivery today so enjoying a slightly more relaxed morning than usual. I think I am already getting in holiday mode, can't get terribly motivated. Not a bad thing really, usually takes me so long to unwind the holiday is halfway over.
My new girl was really good yesterday too, we had a bit of a tricky lunch, no-one in until !2:40 and then bang, the restaurant filled in 5 minutes, 20 tickets on the peg in the kitchen. Impossible to cook all at the same time so they had to wait, all a bit stressful, and I hate disappointing people, but we got through it, new girl really helped too, anticipating everything I needed. I was very impressed. She said she liked it too.
Office day in the main today, although I have to decorate my Cake of the Day this morning, Lemon and Pistache layer cake.

Good morning all 😊 ☕️ Good news about the new girl @D0rdogne_Damsel 😊 This morning at 6:50 I woke and heard the bin lorry outside … the papers had said collections wouldn’t be until tomorrow because Monday was a bank holiday, but there they were … OH wakes up slower than I do, so I leapt out of bed and rushed downstairs putting my purple dressing gown on, and took the bins out.
The lorry was already past us and was up the hill, but they saw me and one of the men kindly came back down the hill to take the food waste bin from me and brought it back.
I told him I’d thought they’d have been coming tomorrow … he rolled his eyes, grinned, and said that someone at the council hadn’t changed the dates on the website, so they did a double shift on Tuesday in order not to confuse everyone. Bless them. Bin men etc often get a bad press, but ours are wonderful 😍

Knee is a bit better this morning. I slept with in on a pillow last night, maybe it helped but when I turned over the pillow was in the way so I threw it out.

I've had a busy morning ... my pension man sent me forms and hard sums to do prior to a meeting tomorrow morning ... so I've been doing that, and I've also checked the car tyres and fluids etc ready for our trip to the south-west next week ... so now I'm feeling very virtuous.
OH has picked all the tomatoes and they're going to go on trays in the studio to ripen while we're away, and the windowcleaner has been and cleaned the windows and I've transferred him his money.
