Evening all. Long time no speak - our 4G signal is a bit hit and miss over here.
Still making our way through rural southern Germany but tomorrow we start to head a bit north. Just been doing more of the same - cycling to and around pretty towns, drinking beer, eating a year's ration of red meat, potatoes and bread (the food is very traditional down here) etc etc. We had the most tremendous thunderstorm Friday evening - rain in biblical quantities - which was good to watch while we were snug and warm in the van.
Have been able to watch snippets of news including the accession stuff yesterday which (as a history buff) I found very interesting.
Sorry to hear SGL & Rubees OH's are struggling again. Best wishes to them - hope they both feel better soon.
A new orchard Ante - how exciting🙂
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
Hazel, you have been a busy bee. Your garden will soon recover from the trampling of the fencers. I am recording Frozen Planet II because I am watching Ridley so no spoilers please - bet it great though.
Ante, I love apple juice too so thats my meals for today sorted out Plums and apricots sound lovely.
Good to see you T'Bird and I'm glad that you are enjoying the travels. When are you returning from your adventures? I am signing out for today. See you all tomorrow.
Cacoethes: An irresistible urge to do something inadvisable
Evening everyone, Thank you for all your kind wishes for OH. @Biglad you're lucky to be able to cut the grass, ours has grown a bit since I cut it last weekend. But it's far too wet under foot to cut it now. Hopefully we will have a few sunny days to dry it out. @Ante1 lovely fruit trees to plant. We have a plum tree but the birds and deer always get the fruit before we do. @Songbird-2 so to hear the fence men have damaged some of your plants. Hopefully they will recover next year. You've been busy in the garden today. The new arch and trellis will look beautiful with the Jasmine and clematis growing over them. Bet you had a lovely time with 23. @Topbird glad you're enjoying your holiday, how is OH wrist now. @Ladybird4 We watched Ridley too, although we're an episode behind, i was a bit confused at the beginning, he was in the kitchen with a lady and young girl. And the girl called him dad. In the first episode he mentioned that his wife and daughter had died. 🤷♀️
I didn't bother watering in the plants I put in the border yesterday afternoon and relied on the forecast to do it for me. Surprisingly the forecast didn't let me down as we've had steady rain with more to follow all day.
It wasn't ideal for mowing @star gaze lily - grass was pretty damp, but the back lawn is growing very unevenly since we got the drains put in. When it gets longer, a pattern develops that is a cross between a stick man and a swastika So, I felt the need to have a hack at the lush sections before the rain came. Glad I did now.
Morning everyone, Sun is peeking through, think its supposed to be a nice day. @Ladybird4 Aahh, ok. I did wonder afterwards if it was a flash back. But my mobile buzzed and missed a few minutes while answering a message. I'm enjoying the series. 😄😄 @Biglad can understand why you wanted to cut the grass. Need to pop to the shops to get a few bits, just a couple of shops and back home again. Have a good day everyone.
Good morning all. Few bits to do this morning then work later.
Dry here now though rain forecast later then I believe it’s dry weather for a while.
We are away next week, leave on day of Queens funeral for a week near Doncaster so I think I need to harvest the crops in the greenhouse and clear out more annuals etc from the pots which won’t cope without watering all week, too late in the season now to water anyway.
Another busy week, I have nanny duties tomorrow with Thomas and fiancé wants to do a bbq on Sunday and I am working at a wedding on Saturday. Gardening will have to be slotted in around that I am afraid.

Giving blood this afternoon tied in with a SM visit and renewing library membership. I suppose that's what amounts to a fun day out these days
